Easy Healthy Snack Recipes
We will now see some quick healthy snacks recipes. These recipes do not require elaborate preparation time nor do they have a long list of ingredients.
Healthy Vegetable Dip
Ingredients
- Low Fat Cottage Cheese ½ cup
- Lemon Pepper ¼ teaspoon
- Baby Carrots (finely chopped) ½ cup
- Snow Peas ½ cup
- Combine cottage cheese and lemon pepper and stir well.
- Then add carrots and peas to the cottage cheese mixture and your dip is ready to be served.
Ingredients
- Avocado (ripe, sliced) 1
- Vegetable Dip (fat free) 1 tablespoon
- Lemon Juice ½ teaspoon
- Black Pepper (cracked) 1/8 teaspoon
- Whole Wheat Bread 8 slices
- Smoked Salmon (thinly sliced) 2 ounces
- Cucumber 12 slices
- Place vegetable dip, lemon juice and pepper in a bowl and stir well.
- Spread a thin layer of vegetable dip on the bread slice and top it with salmon, avocado and cucumber.
- Place the other slice on top and your sandwich is ready to be savored.
Ingredients
- Hard Cooked Eggs (cooled and peeled) 6
- Crabs (finely chopped) ¼ cup
- Red Pepper (finely chopped) 2 tablespoons
- Green Onion (finely chopped) 2 tablespoons
- Fat Free Mayonnaise 2 tablespoons
- Dijon Mustard 2 teaspoons
- Ground Nutmeg
- Dried Parsley ½ teaspoon
- A Dash of Black Pepper
- Cut the eggs into half lengthwise and remove the yolks.
- Take egg yolks of only three eggs and beat them. Throw away the other yolks.
- Now add crabs, red pepper, green onion, mayonnaise, mustard, nutmeg and parsley to the yolks and blend well.
- Add a dash of pepper to taste.
- Spoon the mixture into the egg halves and serve.
Children often are the ones, along with their parents, eating all the unhealthy food. For a health conscious mother it can become a taxing job to feed the children with healthy food. However, here are some healthy snack recipes, which will become a hit with your children and they will not turn towards unhealthy snacks. At the same time, these are also a hit with adults.
Apple Chips Recipe
Ingredients
- Sugar 2 tablespoons
- Ground Cinnamon 1 tablespoon
- Apples (thinly sliced) 4
- To make the chips as crispy as the ones we get in the market, slice them as thin as possible. They do not necessarily have to be round in shape.
- Preheat the oven to 250 degrees Fahrenheit, while you prepare the apples.
- In a bowl, mix sugar and cinnamon well.
- Add apple slices to the mixture and toss, so that both the sides of the apples are well coated.
- Now line 2 baking sheets with parchment paper and pour the apples in a single layer onto the baking sheets.
- Transfer the baking sheet to the oven and let the apples bake till they are lightly brown in color and just crisp.
Ingredients
- Strawberries (hulled) 1 quart
- Banana (cut into pieces) 1
- Peaches 2
- Orange Peach Mango Juice 1 cup
- Ice 2 cups
- In a blender, blend strawberries, banana and peaches, till the fruits are pureed.
- Now add in the juice and blend well again.
- Lastly, add ice and blend to desired consistency, pour and serve the smoothie.
