Ingredients
  • 2¾ cup rolled oats
  • 1 cup whole wheat flour
  • 2/3 cup wheat bran
  • 1 cup light brown sugar
  • 1 cup dark brown sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 10 oz semi-sweet chocolate bar
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1½ teaspoon baking powder
  • 1 cup unsalted butter
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
Preparation
  • Chop and shave the chocolate bar into chunks and splinters.
  • While you get the dough ready, preheat the oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit.
  • For this oatmeal cookie recipe, in a mixing bowl, mix rolled oats, wheat bran, whole wheat flour, baking powder and baking soda together.
  • In another bowl, cream the butter till it is light and fluffy.
  • Then add sugar to the butter and continue to beat for 3 to 4 minutes.
  • Now add one egg at a time and beat well.
  • Dry mixture be added to the butter mixture. Mix the ingredients well after adding the dry mixture.

  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup semisweet chocolate chips

  • 1 egg

Preparation

  • In another mixing bowl, whisk butter, peanut butter, both granulated and brown sugar and vanilla. Continue to whisk on medium speed for about 2 to 3 minutes.
  • Then add egg to the mixture and whisk for about 1 minute on low speed.
  • Then add flour mixture gradually to the butter mixture and continue to whisk, till flour is well mixed.
  • At last add oatmeal and chocolate chips to the mixture.
  • Line the baking tray with parchment paper and scoop one ladle of dough on the baking tray a little away from one another.
  • Bake the cookies for about 10 minutes, till they are light golden in color.
  • After they are done, let them cool completely on the baking tray and then remove it and place it in an airtight container at room temperature.
To these cookies recipes, one can also add walnuts, pecans, etc. to make them nutty.
