Healthy Food Requirements
Sometimes feline owners don't realize the harm they are doing to their cats by feeding them tin food. There have been recent surveys that prove that high levels of mercury have been found in tin food. There is no way of finding out if a cat is allergic to any particular kind of substance or not, and when we simply feed them lumps of the stuff that is readily available in the market, we might actually be harming them more. Then how do we take care that we feed them healthy food? Here's a quick list of the things that cats can eat without affecting their health.
- Milk - Make sure it isn't too hot. It is advisable to dilute the milk a little if one is to feed kittens. It helps in their digestion.
- Cheese - Regulate the amount that you give them or they might have a stomach ache.
- Bread - Each cat has personal favorites. My cats don't eat the hard edge. Others want me to roll the bread into a lump or they won't touch it. (I never said cats were easy).
- Meat and Fish - All kinds of fish are usually OK, except for some canned fish like tuna. So also, most meats are 'cat-friendly', but never ever feed a cat crab. The shell can cut through their stomach lining.
