Healing Reunion
Who was it that said that the most powerful poets wrote from the heart instead of the mind? Anyway, this is an old poem that I unearthed while ruffling through papers.
Can you see the crimson glow?
Coveted by my tortured soul
A glow of hope to free my mind
Enslaved by the taunting rhyme
Of that memory lost in time
Back when my brother met his fate
Before I met mine
It's as if a fiery serpent
Caused my heart and soul scorching torment
You are above while I am below
Dear God! Will this pain ever go?
Your soul and mine no longer one
Just wait and the time will come
When your soul and mine
Will once again become entwined
Then the Light will shine
For we are together again
Coveted by my tortured soul
A glow of hope to free my mind
Enslaved by the taunting rhyme
Of that memory lost in time
Back when my brother met his fate
Before I met mine
It's as if a fiery serpent
Caused my heart and soul scorching torment
You are above while I am below
Dear God! Will this pain ever go?
Your soul and mine no longer one
Just wait and the time will come
When your soul and mine
Will once again become entwined
Then the Light will shine
For we are together again
