Healing In Christians' Life

Why is it than that some believe healing as a byproduct of salvation and others believe salvation as being paid for yet when it comes to healing, it is taken as a separate issue that we have to question whether God wants us healed or not?
Healing is believed as actual as it was on Jesus’ time by a part of the body of Christ, while the vast majority believes that God could heal yet it is not for sure what His will is concerning this matter. Well, did Jesus heal the people who needed healing? Yes He did. Did Jesus change since He was here on earth? No, He never changes, praised be His Name forever! Why is it that we still have sick Christians around? I will not get deep into the matter, there can be obstacles but the greatest obstacle in the way of God's healing in our lives is the lack of knowledge. Unfortunately not all who call themselves Christians really believe the Bible for what it says. Many times the Word of God is replaced by traditions that make the Word of no effect.

I’ll let you think over the verses from the Bible that speak about this subject (there are of course other verses concerning healing in the Bible):

"Is any one of you sick? He should call the elders of the church to pray over him and anoint him with oil in the name of the Lord. And the prayer offered in faith will make the sick person well; the Lord will raise him up. If he has sinned, he will be forgiven. Therefore confess your sins to each other and pray for each other so that you may be healed. The prayer of a righteous man is powerful and effective. "James 5:14-16

Do you practice that? Does your church practice that? Sometimes we expect God to do our part too…and we are disappointed that nothing happened when we prayed, but we are not willing to do the small part God told us to do concerning this matter. Listening to God is more important than sacrifice!

"Who has believed our message and to whom has the arm of the LORD been revealed?
He grew up before Him like a tender shoot, and like a root out of dry ground. He had no beauty or majesty to attract us to Him, nothing in His appearance that we should desire Him. He was despised and rejected by men, a man of sorrows, and familiar with suffering. Like one from whom men hide their faces He was despised, and we esteemed Him not.

"Surely He took up our infirmities and carried our sorrows, yet we considered Him stricken by God, smitten by Him, and afflicted. But He was pierced for our transgressions, He was crushed for our iniquities; the punishment that brought us peace was upon Him, and by HIS WOUNDS we are healed." Isaiah 53:1-5

Your healing has been paid for when Jesus Christ died on the cross "By His wounds we are healed".

"But for you who revere my name, the sun of righteousness will rise with healing in its wings. And you will go out and leap like calves released from the stall." Malachi 4:2

"Then your light will break forth like the dawn, and your healing will quickly appear; then your righteousness will go before you, and the glory of the LORD will be your rear guard." Isaiah 58:8

Jesus’ healing ministry:

"Jesus went throughout Galilee, teaching in their synagogues, preaching the good news of the kingdom, and healing every disease and sickness among the people." Matthew 4:23

"So they set out and went from village to village, preaching the gospel and healing people everywhere." Luke 9:6

"…but the crowds learned about it and followed him. He welcomed them and spoke to them about the kingdom of God, and healed those who needed healing." Luke 9:11
Jesus’ command to His disciples regarding healing:

‘He said to them, "Go into all the world and preach the good news to all creation. Whoever believes and is baptized will be saved, but whoever does not believe will be condemned. And these signs will accompany those who believe: In my name they will drive out demons; they will speak in new tongues; they will pick up snakes with their hands; and when they drink deadly poison, it will not hurt them at all; they will place their hands on sick people, and they will get well." Mark 16:15-18

"I tell you the truth, anyone who has faith in me will do what I have been doing. He will do even greater things than these, because I am going to the Father." John 14:12

Amazing verse! Anyone who believes in Jesus Christ will do what Jesus did! Totally amazing! What’s more, he will do ever greater works because Jesus is now with the Father. If we only believed that the power of Jesus’ resurrection is within each believer, if we only believed this verses here, our lives would simply explode with heavenly bounty. The works of Jesus for you? Yes, for you! Think about these verses and let God speak to you from His Word, the Bible.

Healing for the soul:

"Reckless words pierce like a sword, but the tongue of the wise brings healing." Proverbs 12:18

"A wicked messenger falls into trouble, but a trustworthy envoy brings healing." Proverbs 13:17

"The tongue that brings healing is a tree of life, but a deceitful tongue crushes the spirit." Proverbs 15:4

"Pleasant words are a honeycomb, sweet to the soul and healing to the bones." Proverbs 16:24
