He Loves Me, He Loves Me Not 30

I woke up in an unfamiliar room. The room was quite, I couldn't hear anything but the fire burning in the fire place. I sat up in the bed and notice that it was dark out, I must've slept the whole way here. I should never knock out in the middle of something major going on.
Too cold to get out of the bed I looked around for my stuff, my backpack or any of Febe's belongings. But there wasn't anything. I finally got out of bed and walk to the door where I could hear Liz voice from downstairs.
I almost cried as I heard her voice. I close the bedroom door and walk down the stairs as everyone adjusted their voices once they heard me close the door. Liz was the first one to walk up to me and gave me a hug, I took in her smell and a tear slip. She smiled as she wipe my cheek. Taking me by the arm she set me next to her as I notice new faces in the room staring at me.

They all stared whispering to each other but they didn't know I could hear them perfectly fine. Quinn wasn't in the room but Ben, Noel, and Dearan were with their father, uncle Taha. It's been so long since I seen him and he hasn't age one bit. Uncle Taha smiled at me then look at the door as Quinn and Uncle walk into the room. I walk away from Liz automatically once I saw uncle. He smile, his warm smile that always filled me in with love that almost broke my heart. Uncle embrace me into his arms and did a little squeeze.
"How are you my daughter?" Daughter? He wasn't called me that since I was little.
"I miss you," I said as he wrap his arm around my shoulders.
"I miss you too. Quinn tells me that you had become a very beautiful woman and turns out for once in his life he was right." Noel was the first one to laugh out loud as Quinn threw a pillow at Noel. I blush away and Quinn caught it, I looked away and quickly thought of something to say.

"Are you doing any better?" Uncle sat next to Quinn and guided me to sit next to him, being that Quinn was sitting between us.
"Never felt better," Uncle grab a cup from the table and drank it like it he been dehydrated for days. He set down the cup and clear his throat. "Before we catch up Rin, I need to talk to you about what's going on."
Quinn arm was touching mine, making me very uncomfortable. I tired moving an inch away but there wasn't room to move to. So I moved my arm away and out of nowhere he gave out a sigh.
"Rin," I stop what I was doing to look and to see that everyone was looking at me. "We discussed, what's been going on and...and we're declaring war."
No one said a word. Uncle came straight out with it but it look like everyone knew about the news but me. I look at everyone, from uncle Taha to the strangers. I finally looked at Quinn who looked more hurt then anyone in the room.
"So what about-"

Uncle Taha cut me off. "The Night Slayers are also joining. Including you too Rin." Quinn grid his teeth, trying to hold back his rage. I whisper his name into his ear and at once he stop and looked at me with a pleading face.
"We'll be training here while we wait for everyone else as in the pack to arrive. The Rebels don't know that we're gathering for a war so we're going to take them by surprise." Uncle touch Quinn arm and got up. "Tomorrow the Night Slayers leader is coming over and also Rin," I turn to look at uncle as he called my name. "The hospital is releasing your father, you should go and pick him up with Quinn and bring him here. I think I should be the one to explain everything to him." I nod with my heart filled with joy. Dad was finally coming out of the hospital!

"Now that were done let's have dinner, Elena do you need help setting up the table?" Uncle said as he headed towards the kitchen. Elena? Auntie was also here?
"No I got it all handled." Auntie lower her voice when she saw me. "Oh my dear Rin you're up!" She walk around uncle and pass Quinn to hug me. "I miss you so much I couldn't wait anymore. I was going to march into that room and wake you up but Quinn wouldn't let me." I turn to look at Quinn but he wasn't there anymore, I look back at auntie and hug her again.
"I miss you auntie," she rub my back then held me by the shoulders.
"Your so big now, you look so much like your mother." I smiled at her but I couldn't hold back my tears.
"That means so much to me," Auntie smiled then wrap her arms around mine.
"Lets go before they eat all the food. We have so much to talk about." Auntie pulled out a chair for me then took the chair next to it. Quinn like always out of nowhere was on my right.

As everyone gather around the table I heard Febe's voice from the living room and another girl maybe a couple of years older than Febe. They walk hand in hand with each other then sat down, Febe spotted me and wave. I wave back as her new friend whisper something into Febe ears.
"Let's dig in!" auntie held a bowl of chicken in her hands gesturing if I wanted some. I nod and she set a piece of chicken on my plate. I thank her then pass the bowl to Quinn. He place his hands on mine, locking his eyes with mine. I look away as auntie ask if I wanted some peas.
As everyone was chattering away I was the only one who haven't said one word yet. Febe once in a while pulled out a joke and Quinn would have his side conversation with Noel and Dearan. Ben was talking to uncle Taha about the car repair shop as auntie and uncle were talking about other things. I didn't want to use my Night Slayers "ears" so I thought to myself.

What happened at school? Why was there a fire? Am I going to school tomorrow? Are we going to be in deep trouble that dad would kill me for? Where is Lee and Derek? I look around but there wasn't any sign of them.
"Rin?" I look up from my plate to auntie. "We want to introduce you to the rest of the family." I set down my spoon to give them all my attention.
"This is Caddie, our closes friend." Auntie pointed at Caddie who had beautiful golden hair that flow, almost like he could me a model. "That one," auntie pointed at the girl next to Caddie with long brown hair to her hips. She looked so much like Caddie. "Her name is Shelly, Caddie daughter." I should have known.
"Hi," They both said, I smiled at them and said a silent hi which I knew they could hear me very well.
"Hi Rin! I'm Gina! I'm Febe new friend and Shelly little sister! I'm 5 years old!"
I gave out a little laugh. "Nice to meet you Gina." As cute as Gina was she shriek in glee at what I said to her.

"This guy over here is Gil he's new in the group." Uncle said pointing towards a guy with broad shoulders that look like he could pick up a car with his bare hands. He had a friendly look which told me we could be good friends.
"Hi," He stretch his hand out across the table gesturing a shake, I took his hand and shook.
"And they are Fanny and Vent," Uncle pointed towards a woman who look around her 20s with light make-up on, which would look better if she went naked. The guy next to her was probably around her age, a very tall guy with shabby black hair. "They just move to Virginia from California."
"Nice to meet you Rin. I heard what happened to your family and I am very sorry about your lost." Vent look at Fanny then shook his head. "What? I just wanted to tell her how I felt."
"Was it really necessary to tell her now?" Vent said with a little apology look on his face. "Sorry for my wife's rude behavior."

"No it's ok it didn't offend me." It really did bother me but I didn't want to ruin this little happy moment with that uncle and auntie is here. Quinn the whole time was sighing and banning his spoon against his plate on purpose.
"Is there a problem Quinn?" Shelly was the first one to break the silence.
Quinn look up at Shelly then slowly back down at his plate. Everything went back to normal, talking and chatting about other stuff. I quickly finish eating first then excuse myself from the table. I wanted to leave the house but uncle said I wasn't able to so I walk around the house like it was mine.
I found the door to the basement which was really big. Bigger than my living room back at home, the basement was like a dance studio. Going back upstairs I notice that everyone was now done eating so I offer help with the dishes. Rinsing and washing as I went when Shelly came over. She didn't say anything at first but just dry the dishes. I listen to her as she hum a tone I didn't know telling by her humming she didn't know what to say to me even though she wanted to become closer to me.

"So Shelly how old are you?" I started washing the big pan with the sauce in it.
"I'm 15," She wipe a plate dry and put it on the rest of the stack that she started. "How old are you?"
"I'm 16 just a year older than you. So why are you here?" Shelly smiled like she was waiting for me to ask her this question.
"Well besides that dad is going to be in this battle, I'm here to get closer with the one I like." Her smile got even bigger and it look like as if her eyes were shining.
"Who's that?" I ask as I finish up with the pan.
She got very close to me and mouth the name. "What?" I ask her out loud.
She didn't want to say it out loud so she waved her finger in the air. N-O-E
"Noel!" I whisper but a loud whisper. Shelly clasp her hand over my mouth and started nodding.
I didn't know if I wanted to laugh or feel bad for her. His habit of talking to every girl he sees. Shelly looks so innocent and sweet who shouldn't fall in love with someone like Noel. She let me go and headed to finish drying.

"I know what you're thinking. He's a player, he's a bad boy, and he's no good for you." Shelly said in a mocking voice. "But I see something special in him that no one else sees. That's my power, I see this other side of people who themselves don't even know of." I look at Shelly with maybe a scared look.
"Noel is a flirt but there something in him that he doesn't know that I fell in love with. Noel loves kids, he doesn't see it but I do. He thinks that kids are evil little things the devil creator, but he loves them." She laugh to herself.
"Yeah I know you think it's lame but I see something in you that you don't even know of." Her smile turn into something serious.
"And what's that?"
"I don't want to say." She looked kind of scared now.
"Just tell me, you act like I'm going to hurt you." She turn and look dead into my eyes. She was freaking out, Quinn was all of a sudden there.

"Shelly." Quinn said in a command voice. Shelly look down and apologize quietly.
She turn and left without finishing drying the plates then the pan. Quinn eyes followed Shelly out the room then turn back to look at me. He sigh then walk behind me and took the pan out of my hand. He dried the pan setting it in the cabinet while I found a spot on the counter to sit on.
"You want to tell me what just happen?" I said when he stop in front of me with his hands cross over his chest.
"You don't need to know Rin. You look really tired," Quinn touch my cheek then down my neck.
"I'm not tired at all," I push his hand away. "Why does it look like Shelly was going to cry?"
"Don't get angry Rin calm down." I wasn't even getting angry.

"What are you talking about? You were listening in on us huh? So then you know what my "other side of me" that I don't know about. Shelly told you and now you won't tell me?"
"No." Quinn took a step away from me. "I don't want to tell you."
"Why? It's like as if this thing will kill me. It's just a feeling or a personality trait that I don't know of but will come to know of it."
"See you said it yourself that you'll come to know of it. Then until then you have to wait and see." Quinn was walking back and forth now.
I knew how to get it out of him. I got down from the counter reaching out to touch his arm, stopping him from his train of thought. "Tell me Quinn." He look down at me with those puppy eyes and at that moment I knew he was scared.
"No." He walk off without looking back at me.
