Hayden Panettiere’s Father Arrested on Spousal Abuse Charges
Actress Hayden Panettiere’s father, Alan, was arrested Monday morning on charges of felony domestic violence following an altercation at the family’s home.

Police were reportedly called to the Panettiere home in West Hollywood a little before 3:a.m. Monday morning and Alan Panettiere was taken into custody. Sgt. Scott Wolf said, "There was a domestic argument between the mother and father. He got upset and struck the mother in the face one or two times on the left cheek which caused some bruising. From what I’m told, he hit her with a closed fist." Sgt. Wolf added, "The mother called police shortly before 3 a.m., and Mr. Panettiere was taken into custody. He’s been cooperative. Earlier, they were at a party and the husband apparently felt disrespected by his wife."
Hayden Panettiere, 18, hosted a benefit for the Whaleman Foundation at Beso, a restaurant in West Hollywood owned by actress Eva Longoria. Her parents, Alan and Lesley Vogel, also attended the event. It has been reported that Alan felt that his wife was "disrespecting him" by "hanging" with someone. The altercation occurred once the family returned home. Vogel, 52, reportedly had "visible signs of injury" but refused to go to the hospital despite the urging of the police officers. The officers did take pictures of her bruises.
It has been reported that alcohol played a factor in the incident. Alan is currently in custody and a $50,000 bail has been set. Hayden’s rep reportedly said, "This is a private matter. We have no comment." Hayden currently stars as Claire Bennett in the hit NBC series Heroes and is also a singer. She is dating her Heroes co-star Milo Ventimiglia, 31, and she has a 13-year old brother, Jansen.
