Haunted Soul Chapter 4 - The Escape - Rain-Nick

I stared at his black eyes, unable to talk. He... loved me? I couldn't believe it. No.. He couldn't.
A voice started in my head and I gasped, surprised. "He's lying, Rain..He doesn't love you. If he did.. He'd let you come be with usss..." My eyes darkened as I glared at him.

"You're lying." I said sharply, "You don't love me. You only want me to yourself, you want me to be your slave. " I shuddered at the thought and pushed him away, Blasting into the woods we were near.

"Rain!!" His pained voice hurt my ears and the voice drowned out his words.

"Are you coming, My dearest Rain?" it said.

I nodded then realized it couldn't see me so I sighed and whispered, "Yes..."

Back where Rain had left me, At the stop where she was about to leave, near the chapel..
I fell to my knees as I watched her run to her death. I couldn't believe this was the matter.
Why did she have to believe them and not me?
The man who has helped her live her whole life.. The man who would die if it meant her being safe all her life...I stood up and swallowed my tears and pushed my black hair out of my eyes.

"Greattt.., Nick I see you've lost her. " I turned around and there stood another vampire, He had a good build and yes, I am bi-sexual. His eyes where brown, and he looked disappointed.

"I haven't lost her." I mumbled, holding myself the courage to follow her after he left.

"Then why isn't she here?"

"I..." I stared at the ground, feeling just so helpless.

"Exactly, I'm going to help you find her and bring her home."
My eyes shot up and glared at him for even thinking I'd let him join me.

"I don't even know you. Why the hell would I want you to join me in my haunt?" I glared then stepped back once I remembered he knew my name.

"How do.. you know my name?"

"Oh, so, I see you don't remember me." He smiled.

" You were my fledging." His smile turned dark and he lunged for me.
Thinking fast I ducked and rolled the other way as he flew over me. When he landed he burst into a none stop laughing attack. I stood, thinking about who it was that made me...
Zane..

"Zane?" I choked out a laugh.

"It's you?!" I started laughing, but then remembered Rain had left and pain struck my heart.

"Yes, I'm Zane. I'm glad you remembered." He stood.

"We have to go save her." I sighed, Knowing how difficult he was going to make this, even though before he had offered to help. I couldn't just turn away my maker like that. I didn't know who he was and didn't even remember him because he left me when I was only 25.
He smiled at me and grabbed a stick.

"Oh? Well.. Since you rejected me at first.. I really don't think I ought to."
I know, I have a problem with glaring, but again. I glared then straightened my face.

"Please.. We have to save her. You know I didn't mean to reject you. I know you know how to save her. I think it was you who led me to her. I know it was you who led me to her. I need your help to save her now. You don't know how big of a bond me and her have I need to save her for I can't live without knowing shes safe. I --" I stopped mid sentence when he put his hand up

"Can we talk about this in your house or.. Where do you live anyway?" He sighed,

"The sun is starting to come up so we have to wait for the dusk."

"I knew you only cared about yourself but, It's true.. We'll wait for dusk because we don't want to reveal ourselves to the humans..." And I hope Rain will get some where where the sun don't shine so she can rest... I sighed and looked painfully at the spot where Rain had left. Maybe me telling her I did love her was a bad idea, Maybe she doesn't want to be with me... At least I told her.. and at least she knows now..

I lead him to the cave me and Rain had stayed in only nights before. Zane laughed when he saw it.

"What are you laughing at?" I went to sit down at the other end of the cave were my face wasn't visible.

"Just seeing how you see to stay out of the way of humans, I revealed myself to a human before." He smiled innocently.
I gapped at him and then laid down.

"Just shut up and let’s get some sleep." I yawned.

"I thought you--"

"I said shut up and go to sleep before I kick you out of my cave." I snarled

"Okay, okay. Mr. Touchy."

"Shu--"

"Go to sleep."

In the night I felt so small... I felt like there was a whole in my heart needing to be re-filled. Yeah.. I missed her but some how, I managed to get atleast some sleep..
