Haunted Soul: Chapter 2 - Rain

When I was littler, I was abandoned by my parents. I was only 2 years old and I lived in the alley ways alone. I was only skin and bones. But then.. that was when Nick found me. He took great care of me.. He was the strongest man I ever seen. He was also, beautiful.. But, of course... I really didn't see that when I was so young. I kept growing older, but then one day.. When he had to leave to fetch me food.. He said, "Hide, Do as I say and don't come out of your hiding spot"
After that day....

I always had a lust for blood and I always heard screaming at midnight, I always had shocks of horrible pain.... The men that came into the alley when he left.... Changed my life.. Forever... When I got older.. To the age of 10, I found out that... I was a vampire.

I was growing faster, I looked beautiful when I reached the age of 18. But.. As I got older... I still looked the same. For some reason my face wouldn't change. I was full grown... I know that I am 54 now. I still look the age of 18. Maybe.. Nick will tell me sometime.

I find I have fallen in love with him though, I try to keep hiding it, forcing myself to get a frozen face when he is around. He is 230 years old, he tells me. He was changed when he was 20...

"You bitch!" I yelled across the field.

The bear ran towards me, roaring. I knew he had been turned, but shit, by who? Was that stupid bear sent for me?!

I dodged the bears attack in a swift motion, almost falling to the ground. I was clumsy on my feet as I was only in training! That stupid vampire Nick hasn't taught me enough to battle vampire bears. The stupid bear had already got a small cut down my back with his stupid claws.

But I knew that it would heal in a few minutes. I waited for it to heal then crouched.

I kept my eyes glued onto the bears red crazed eyes and grabbed the daggers that were belted to my socks to keep me safe from physical attacks from other vampires. Waiting for the bear to ram into me again I positioned myself, waiting for its attack. He came faster this time, he would have seemed invisible for a mortals eye to see, but I seen him perfectly. When he was atop of me I gave a tiny shriek of surprise, then getting my senses back, I clutched my daggers tighter and raised my hand then struck him in his left eye.

His blood spilt out over my face as I groaned in enjoyment. Licking the blood from my lips and tasting the sweetness, I held my other dagger tighter, then kicked him off, throwing him into a tree. The tree fell with the bear and the bear roared with anger. Running to him at lightning speed, I dragged my dagger deep into his mouth and across his cheek, I kept going all the way to his tail. Hearing him whine made me feel sorry. I decided to make his death less painful.

"I'm very sorry.." I said as I jumped onto his back and pulled his head back, then I twisted it, hearing the cracking made me smile.

"Go in piece..." I jumped off his back and rolled him onto his side. Not being able to resist I dropped my other dagger and licked the bears wounds then sucked digging my super sharp teeth into his flesh.

"Mmm.. You taste way better then those humans..."

A few minutes passed and I had already drank the last drop of blood from the bears body. That's when I heard Nicks soft steps approaching me in the woods. Sighing I laid down on the grass next to the bear.

"Hello, Nick.. " I rolled my eyes and knew what was to come.

"Rain." He stood above me and nodded at the bear who lay lifeless beside me.
"I'm surprised to see you could actually kill him this time without almost killing yourself. I've taught you well." He bragged, grinning.

Heh.. Guy ego...

Rolling my eyes at him, I rolled onto my side, facing the bear and kissed his cold nose.

"I hope to see you in the afterlife," I sighed.

"I know you don't like killing animals, But I seen the most of it, His eyes were crazed.. I could tell you worked your hardest, you succeeded by killing him. He would have caused lots of problems for the humans," He laughed, " Not more then I do though,".

"You’re such a f*cking prick," I snorted. "Aren't you going to give me a lecture on how the mortals could have seen me? How I could have died?" I laughed, "How I shouldn't have blocked you out like that?" laughing, I sat up and gazed into his eyes for a little then forced my face to show no emotion.

He sat down beside me, which was a little surprise because, he normally kept his distance.

"I am not angry with you, Rain." His smile didn't quite reach his eyes.

"I'm proud you where able to block me out like that..." He sighed then sat up straighter.

"Well.. We should get going, the sun is about to come up." He took me by my wrist and clutched it hard. Gasping I bit my lip.

"Do you always have to take my wrist? Why not my hand. I'm sure it would be more comforta--" When he gripped it a tiny bit harder I shut up.

"Okay.. Let’s do it your way..." He reached for my hand and held it, then in a second.. We disappeared.
