Haunted Soul: Chapter 1- Nick

The grass was greenish yellow and the leaves where starting to fall off of the trees. The best time of season for the humans for the nice strolls in the woods.

I loved watching the lovers in the woods then scaring the shit out of them when they walked home, Almost twice, I actually would have killed the humans... But..watching Rain, was the most painful thing in the world.. This feeling came to me, I have no clue what it is.. Its a feeling of... caring.. I think..

I really don't understand it.. It hurts me to watch her suffer... Especially right now, This is the worst pain I have ever seen her suffer. She winces when the screams she hears come to her... Someone is sending these screams purposely.. They hunted for someone’s soul to torture and they crawled upon a poor infant in an ally way.

Why must they have done this to her? They transformed her and took away her humanity... I watched over her most of her life.. I was in love with her when I first met her.

I would have never transformed her though. To make her live this horrid life I live now.. But.. They had to do it....

"Nick!!" She screamed my name for help..She never does that.. running with her threw the forest, she held her head in her hands and she flung into the trees because her eyes were shut tight from all the pain. A piercing scream ran threw her head and she winced, hitting her head hard on a rock when she fell but, instantly getting to her feet... A snarl of pain rippled threw her throat and out her mouth.

"Why the f*ck does it have to be so dark at night?" she screeched at herself, gritting her teeth. She was trying to run away from it.. The screaming that had hunted her since she was just a toddler.

Her name was, Rain. Rain Wulche. She had reddish, black hair that always seemed to flow neatly at her shoulders. Her eyes were blue and brown. Most people thought she wore eye contact, but it was natural... Her beauty shocked me as she grew older... But.. Since I did not know that she had been turned into one of the vampire clan when she was just a baby.. I was shocked.. No human could be as beautiful as her. Her eyes turning from the black colors to her normal colors should have been the first sign.

Waiting for the pain to finally stop, I picked at a flower to get ready to give for her.
Finally she fell to her knees.

"Is it gone?" I asked softly, knowing she would be cross.

"Yes," she said, "Its gone," she sat up, her eyes glowing with coldness I’ve never seen before.

"I thought you said your shields would protect me," She glared. Sighing I stood to looked at her, my expression emotionless. "I'm not perfect, my Lady," I smiled, my black hair falling over my black eyes. "I am only in training,".

The wind blew as smoke raised from beneath her. Her beautiful eyes started shining, the smoke raised her to her feet and she crouched, ready to attack me. "You are truly foolish, Rain," I sighed then muttered words of dark magic to hold a powerful force field around me. The dark clouds of smoke lifted her into the air as she snarled disapprovingly at my actions. I laughed at her face.... Then she disappeared into the dark.."Rain.. Why must you always run away?"

Opening my thoughts to hers, I gave her a wave of emotion, disapproved.

"You know you need to train anyway. Come back. We must teach you the true arts of fighting."

She struggled to block me from her mind, the way I had taught her, she has never succeeded at it before, so I was disappointed a little more now that I could no long hear her thoughts that made me ache for her.

I started to walk silently up the slope of the small mountain, and a mountain lion appeared. Forgetting about Rain, I crouched into my attacking position, Knowing I looked as frightening then beautiful Rain was when she crouched, I lunged forward and the lion roared.
