---- Naling's POV ----

It's just so weird that Vee is hugging me right now. I don't know why it felt weird to me. I didn't even finish what I'm going to ask him and he just suddenly hugged me. But I actually like it because it felt warm. Knowing that no matter what happened in the past between him and his girlfriend, he's mine right now. After that, he let go of me and we headed back into the house holding hands.
"So, Naling," said Lela, lying on my bed when I got out of the shower. "What are you thinking right now?"

"Do you really want to know?" I asked her back.

She nodded her head. "Of course, I want to know. We're sister right."

I sat down on my chair, drying my hair with my towel. "Well...Lela, I don't care what happened in the past anymore."

"What do you mean?"

I throw my towel on the table, turning to look at her. "About what happened to Vee? I don't care anymore."

"And why's that?"

"Because...when I think about it. It's just the past and it's like they said, let the bygone be bygone, right?"

Lela nodded her head. "Yeah."

"Well, when I got out and felt the breeze outside, I started to think about everything, thinking that if I kept on asking Vee about his past, then the both of us are not going to go anywhere. Since right now I know, everything going to be fine and right now I know that Leena is pretending to be Nene just to get close to Vee, I'm not going to let it happen."

Lela got up and sat down instead. "So what are you going to do? Are you going to tell Vee that you love him so he'll stay away from Leena?"

I shake my head. "I'm not going to tell him that I love him. Not yet. But even though I told him that I love him, there might be a slice chance that Leena still going to try to get close to Vee anyway."
"Then what are you going to do."

"I'm not sure yet. But all I know that I'm not going to lose to Leena."

Lela slaps my shoulder, laughing happily. "That's my Naling talking!"

I smile at her, instead.

*-*-*
Finally it's Wednesday and Kenji's girlfriend or his wife is coming to visit us. Lela and I couldn't wait to see her so we convince my mother to get us out early.

"I'll see you later, Xai," Lela cooed at him.

"Umm, I don't think so Lela," he cooed back at her.

"And why's that?"

"Well, I promise my mother that I'm going to take her and her friend out today."

"Oh, so you're going on a date with your mother and her friends."

"It's not a date alright. I'm just their driver, that's all."

The both of them continue on talking while Vee and I watched them.

"At least they don't argue like us," Vee said chuckling.

I slap his shoulder. "So what. They're different from us."

"Yeah, so..."

"So, are you coming over or do you have plan also?"

He shakes his head. "I don't have plan."

"So you're coming over right?"

"Umm...I guess so."

"What do you mean 'I guess so'? You got to come over alright. You're my fiancé; you got to come so Kenji's girlfriend will know who you are."

He started to chuckle again. "Wait hold on. When did you start admitting that I'm your fiancé?"

"Does it really matter to you?"

He nodded his head. "Of course because it's like all of a sudden you start admitting that you got a fiancé."

"What's wrong with that?"

"There's nothing wrong with it but...I don't get it, that's why."

I angrily turn around, facing my back to him. "Fine then. I won't admit that I have a fiancé. If people ask me do I have a boyfriend, I will say no."

He wrapped his arm around me, which it felt comfortable. "Aww, don't get mad Naling. I was just kidding. I actually like when you admit that you got a fiancé."

I smile but then I see Leena walking by. She was staring at me with those eyes of her. I decided to pull Vee's arm so he'll be closer to me, letting her know that I'm not going to lose Vee to her.

"C'mon Naling," said Lela. "Lunch almost over and we better get going."

Vee slowly let go of his arm as we got up.

"Okay," I answer her. I grabbed my stuff turning to look if Leena still there but she wasn't. She was gone. Lela started to head off, calling my name. I turn to look back at Vee. "Promise me that you're going to be there, alright."

He nodded his head. "I promise."

I smile at him and started to run after Lela.

When we got home, Kenji wasn't home yet. So Lela and I decided to decorate the house and cook some delicious food before they get here.

"Naling, Lela." Cindy called us. "They're here."
I quickly zip Lela's dress up.

"Ow! That hurt!" yelped Lela.

"Sorry Lela."

"I know you're excited but just be careful next time."

"Alright Lela."

She grabbed my hand. "C'mon let's go."

"Yeah and I hope Vee going to be here. He promises me."

Lela rubbed my back. "If he promises you already, he'll keep his promise. I know him." The both of us nodded our head while we step out of the bedroom. When we got to the living room, Kenji and his girlfriend was already sitting there chatting with my mother and Ken.

"Hey there's my two little sister!" Kenji yelled happily.

"Hi," said the both of us as we sat down across from them.

"So who's Naling?" asked Kenji's girlfriend.

"I'm Naling," I answer her.

"And you must be Lela right?" Lela nodded her head. "Well, you may know me already but my name is Ruby."

"Nice to meet you Ruby," said the both of us.

She smile and we smile back. When we were finish chatting, we decided to eat instead. Ruby kept on asking if I invited my fiancé over and I did but he hasn't shown up yet. That's why we decided to eat first.

"Naling, phone," said Mea while we still eating.

"Who is it?" I asked her.

"It's Vee," answer Mea.

I got up, excusing myself to the phone. "Vee, why aren't you here yet?" I asked him angrily.

"Sorry Naling, I got something to do," answer Vee.

"What? But I thought you say that you don't have anything to do today," I whined but still a little piss off.

"I'm sorry Naling. I'm very sorry and tell your family that I'm sorry too. I got to go now. I'll tell you tomorrow, alright."

"Alright, I'll let you off." I could hear him chuckle as he said bye to me and then he hang up.

"What did Vee say?" asked Lela the moment I step back into the dining room.

"Oh, he say that he got something important to do so he's not going to be here and that he's sorry for his absence," I answer her.

"Well, it's okay if Vee can't make it," said my mother. I didn't say anything but eat instead.
*-*-*

The next day I went to school, I was so tired because we stayed up late talking with Ruby and asking her about her love life. I'm glad that Kenji found this lady to be his wife because she's pretty nice and gentle.

"Naling, Naling!" Lela and I turn around seeing that it was only Hana and Celia calling my name.

"I'm glad that you haven't gone to class yet," said Hana.

"What is it?" I asked them.

"Yeah what is it?" Lela also asked them too. "And don't the both of you have science class together because over here is history and which it's kinda far away from the science building."

"But this is much important then our science class," said Celia.

Hana nodded her head trying to catch her breath. "We've been looking all over for you Naling even this morning too."

"What is it you two? Just say it already!" I angrily said.
Hana and Celia turn to look at each other and said at the same time, "We saw Vee with Leena last night."

"WHAT?!" I yelled including Lela.

"We saw the both of them yesterday, for real Naling," said Hana.

"Where?" asked Lela.

"At the bar," answer the both of them.

"What are you two doing at the bar anyway?" Lela asked them again.

"Of course, Lela. Looking for guy but this doesn't matter. The only thing matter is that, why is Vee with Leena yesterday?" Hana said again. "Didn't he promise you that he'll be at your house but instead he went to the bar?"

"Was he really with Leena?" Lela asked the both of them.

They shrug their shoulder.

"He was carrying Leena out of the bar though," answer Celia. "And that's all we see."

"I can't believe him," I said to myself.

Lela rubbed my back. "Naling, don't get mad yet. They said that they only see Vee carrying Leena out of the bar. They didn't do anything."

"What if they did? What if Vee was drunk too and took Leena to a motel and..." Before Hana could say any farther, Lela slaps her on the head.

"You idiot!" yelled Lela. "Just run to your class or the both of you will be late!"

They nodded their head and started to run to their class. Lela was about to say something to me but I quickly went to my class instead. When I got close to my class, someone called my name. I turn around and Leena was standing there.

"What do you want?" I asked her.

She chuckle. "Oh nothing. But I want you to tell to Vee that yesterday I enjoy every moment of it." She waves her hand at me about to go but I told her to stop. "You're telling me to stop or do you want to hear more detail about what we do yesterday."

"Just shut your mouth, Leena," I angrily said.

She chuckle again. "You are telling me to shut my mouth. You're not the boss of me."

"I don't care but I want you to stay away from Vee."

"And what if I don't? What are you going to do to me?" I didn't even answer her question. "Nothing I bet. Because a girl likes you, can't do anything to me. And if you did, Vee going to be upset at you, not me because I'm his first love. He cares about me more than you that's why he didn't show up to your house yesterday." She chuckle again. "Naling, I think you're just too stupid to notice what's going on here. He wanted me, not you. He just wanted to play around with you and once I'm back, he's mine again. He's not going to love you like he love me."

"He does not love you."

"How would you know huh? Did he ever tell you that he love you?" She slowly walks up to me. "Aww, you poor thing. He never did huh. Do you know that when I'm still his girlfriend, every single day he'll say he love me. He even sends me to classes too, even though he'll be late to class but he still walk me to class anyway. But look at you...walking to class all alone-"

"She not alone, Leena." I turn around and there was Lela, standing right behind me. "I'm with her and she doesn't need Vee to take care of her. Vee knows that she doesn't like it."

"Oh so you mean that Vee taking his time on her." She turns to look back at me again. "Hah! I guess he doesn't really love you like he use to love me." The bell ring to go to class. Everybody was rushing while the three of us still stand there.

"C'mon Leena, it's time to go," said her two friend the moment when they pass by.

Leena slowly walk away from us. "And remember to tell Vee that yesterday I enjoy his company. It was very nice of him." She smiles at us one last time before she looks away.

"Naling-" Before Lela could say anything to me, I walk into class.

----
"Aww, c'mon Naling. Just don't believe what you hear from those two and Leena," Lela said for like the third time during lunch. "You got to ask Vee, why he's at the bar instead at our house?"

"I don't know Lela. Could I really trust what he said?" I finally said, picking on my food.
Lela grabbed my food away from me and throws it into the trash because she knows I'm not in a mood for eating. "Naling, you say that you love him. You got to trust him too. He's not like that. Just talk about it and figure things out slowly and don't skip to the subject yelling at him that he doesn't love you and all those stuff."

"But Lela, he never say that he love me. How would I trust him and know that he love me to trust him?" I lend on the table. "It's just like what Leena say. If he loves me he'll tell me."

"Naling if he doesn't love you, why would he engage with you?"

"Because he wanted to make a fool out of me."

"Beside that, Naling." She sat down across from me. "Look, don't you notice a thing about Vee." I shake my head. "He change, Naling. You change him. He may take his time slowly because of what happened. He wanted to make sure you're the right one for him. He love you, Naling."

"But he still has feeling for Leena."

"How would you know that he still have feeling for her huh?"

"Lela, you do know that your first loves you can't let go. I bet he still loves her and that's what Leena say to me."

"I thought you don't care about the past anymore and who care what Leena say to you. This is between you and Vee only."

"I know but...it bothers me."

"Why? Is it because Leena is his first love." I was about to say a word but when Lela says that Xai and Vee coming, I decided not to say anything.

"Hey Sweetheart, haven't seen you for a long time until right now," Xai said sweetly to her.

She didn't even smile at him but pulled his arm. "C'mon Xai. I got something to do at the library."

"But I just barely got my lunch," whined Xai.
"You could finish it on the way," Lela said again. The moment when they were gone, Vee sat down next to me. I didn't even want to look at him because I'm wasn't in a mood to talk with him.

"Wanna eat some-"

Before he could even finish his word, I quickly said, "No."

"No. Why not? Have you eaten yet?" he asked me. I didn't even answer him so I kept my mouth shut. "Oh, is it because of yesterday? Let me explain to you-"

"That you were with Leena yesterday," I finish his sentence.

"How did you know?"

I turn to look at him. "Hana and Celia saw you with her at the bar. Plus, she 'Leena' wanted me to tell you that she enjoyed your company yesterday."

"Well yeah I was with her yesterday but I was taking her home only. And why would she say that to you?"

I didn't even answer his question but skip to the subject instead. "Oh so the both of you finish drinking and decided to 'head home' together."

"Naling, she was drunk and she called me to take her home."

"Home...or do you mean the motel huh? I bet you were drunk too and the both of you went to the motel. That's what you wanted, isn't it? That's why you decided to 'pick her up' instead of coming over to my house."

Vee grabbed onto my shoulder and started to shake me. "Naling, I can't believe you're saying this. You haven't heard what I'm going to say to you."

"I did already, Vee."

"But that was you talking, not me."

"Yeah, I just finish what you're going to tell me."

"You're taking this too far, Naling."

"How am I taking this too far huh? I bet the both of you planned secretly to meet each other so I wouldn't notice."

"Naling, just listen to me alright."

I cover my ear, shaking my head. "No, no, no! I don't want to listen to you!"

He slowly let go of me. "So you're not going to listen to what I'm going to say."

I stop shaking my head and looked up at him. "Inside your heart, you still love Leena. I know. She's your first love and you can't let her go."

"I can let her go, Naling. I could even let the past go too. Because..." He suddenly stops and didn't say anything.

"Because what, Vee?" I asked him.

He looks away from me. "Although I say to you, you're going to say that I'm lying to you. You didn't even believe and listen to what I'm about to say to you and if I say these word, you wouldn't believe and listen to me either."

I didn't even want to say anything so instead I started to run while I cry. He didn't even called my name or run after me. When I couldn't run anymore, I sat down and started to cry. I think I couldn't let the past go because I'm not sure if he loves me or not. It bothers me sometime and this time, I couldn't let it go anymore. I wanted to know if he love me but he wouldn't say a single word to me that he love me. I really wanted to hear those words.

---- Vee's POV ----

I can't believe I made her cry. But she should have listen to what I was going to say. I don't know how she got those crazy stories but, it's not true. Yesterday the only reason why I went and pick up Leena was because she was drunk. I couldn't let her be drunk at a bar with no one to watch over her. What if something bad happen to her? That's why I decided to pick her up instead of going over to Naling's house. I was about to say that I love her but somehow I couldn't say it because it's not the right time to tell her yet. I wanted all of these problems to go away first and then tell her that I love her. I guess I did change. This time I'm taking this love life of mine slowly. I didn't want to get hurt anymore but somehow, I knew Naling not going to abandon me like Leena. I'm just so confuse right now and don't really know what I'm going to do next. When school was over, I went straight to Naling's house. I was hoping that she was home but Mea told me that she went out shopping with Kenji and his girlfriend.

"Do you know when she'll be home?" I asked Mea.

She shakes her head. "I don't know either."

"Oh, okay. Thanks Mea."

"You welcome."

I slowly walk out of the house but before I get into my car, Lela called me.

"Hey, are you here for Naling?" Lela asked me, trying to catch her breath.

"Yeah," I answer her. "I thought you went with them too."

She shakes her head. "I didn't want to go."

"Oh..."

"Let's go sit down at the back alright." I nodded my head, following behind her. "Cindy, could you bring us some juice."

"Alright Miss Lela," said Cindy.

I sat down on a chair and Lela sat down across from me.

"Naling was piss at you, do you know that?" said Lela.

"I know she's piss at me that's why I'm here," I answer her. Cindy put the juice on the table and headed back inside. I take a slip from it including Lela.

"So...why didn't you show up yesterday?" Lela asked me.

"I thought you knew already," I answer her.

"Yeah but I wanted to hear from your side." She takes another slip from her cup. "I don't believe anything that Leena say. And I know you wouldn't lie to me either."

I sigh. "Yesterday Leena called me and she sound drunk. I also hear a couple of guy in the background talking. I was worry that they might do something bad to her that's why I decided to pick her up. Once when I got her home, her parent weren't there either." Then I stop and decided not to tell Lela what happened next.

"And you just left her on the doorsteps."

"No, I take her inside."

"And you just left her on the couch."

"I did but she wanted to go take a shower."

"And did you left."

I shake my head. "I should have left."

"And why didn't you?"

"Because I thought she was drunk..."

"But she wasn't drunk."

I nodded my head. "I'm not sure if I should tell you this or not."

"What? Did you do something bad? Tell me, Vee."

"No I didn't alright. I'm not like that anymore. And I don't even love her either."
"Then what happened?"

I growl. "I decided to make her some soup because she kept on saying that she's dizzy. So I did some soup and when she came out of the shower she...she was wearing only her towel."

"So she wanted you to take advantage of her, right."

"Yeah but I didn't. She's not the one that I wanted anymore."

Lela lend on the chair. "Well at least you didn't take advantage of her. But if you did, I'll kill you."
I lend on the table, shaking my head. "Lela, I don't know what to do. I wanted to tell Naling that I love her."

"Then tell her that you love her."

"I don't want to tell her yet. Not yet."

"How come?"

"Because I wanted to clear everything between Leena and me. I don't want Naling to think that I don't love her."

"Well, you got to do it quick because she thinks that you don't love her. Do you know that she been crying ever since she came home but she hides it from Kenji and told me not to tell him or anyone about it?"

"Yeah but first, I got to deal with Leena. I'm going to tell her that we're already over since the day she left me. I don't want her to think that I still love her."

"And when you finish telling her that, you're going to tell Naling that you love her."

I nodded my head. "Yeah." I slowly got up heading to the front. "I got to go now, Lela. Thanks for your help."

"Anytime Vee. We're friend."

I waved at her and she wave back at me.
