Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince Premieres in London
The 6th film in the Harry Potter series, Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince, makes its world premiere in London with Daniel Radcliffe, Emma Watson and Rupert Grint in attendance.
It has been nearly two years since the last Harry Potter film hit the big screen and this summer is in dire need of some top-notch cinematic distractions. With the recent spate of celebrity deaths, the entertainment world is eager for some upbeat news - and this would certainly qualify. Cast members Daniel Radcliffe, Emma Watson, and Rupert Grint are expected to appear on the red carpet in London's Leicester Square later this evening.
Rupert Grint has recently been battling the swine flu, although reports are indicating that he will still attend the premiere. He has described the swine flu as "just like any other flu I've had before."
In addition to their appearance at the premiere, the film's stars will also be wearing white ribbons in remembrance of Rob Knox, a young actor who appears in the film who was stabbed to death in London last year.
"I won't pretend that I knew Rob incredibly well, or that I was one of his best friends on set, but I knew him, I liked him, and what happened to him was obviously tragic and awful," said Daniel Radcliffe, who plays Harry Potter.
The Half-Blood Prince sees the young wizards at Hogwarts struggling with their teenage years as they face increasing threats from Lord Voldemort. Harry finds himself drawn to Ginny while Ron finds a love interest, much to the dismay of Hermione, who is watching from afar.
