Harry Potter and the Deathly Hollows: Complete Facts Till Now
So, the smoke has lifted a little, and now we have time to actually breathe and get to known what happens in Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows. Here Goes...
Just tore my eyes from Deathly Hallows after fourteen hours of reading the book. That should not be a surprise at all; the book has enough intrigue for anyone to keep on reading. Here are some of the spoilers that have happened in the 200 pages I have read (about one-third of the book).
Warning: If you want to read the book, please back off immediately from here. These are spoilers below.
Okay, first the deaths. Always the deaths first!
That's it for now. Will keep posted.

Okay, first the deaths. Always the deaths first!
- Professor Charity Burbage, Muggle Studies professor at Hogwarts, killed by Lord Voldemort himself at Lucius Malfoy's house.
- Harry's snowy owl Hedwig. Killed during a Death Eater attack when Harry is being taken to safety
- George Weasley has his ear cut off by permanent Dark Magic by Severus Snape. Not a death, but an important injury to an important character.
- Mad-Eye Moody. Yes, the tough Moody, whose motto is 'Constant vigilance!' killed due to Mundungus Fletcher's cowardice. Lord Voldemort himself does the honors.
- Rufus Scrimgeour, the Minister of Magic. A background death, but very important since the murder allows Lord Voldemort to take over the Ministry, and Hogwarts.
- Ollivander, the wandmaster. No, he had not died in the previous book. Harry dreams him being tortured and he is most probably killed by Voldemort at the end.
- Gregorovitch, another wandmaster, who was also the maker of Viktor Krum's wand. His whole family including his wife and two children are finished off by Voldemort himself.
- For the first time, we see the interior of the Malfoys household. They have white peacocks as pets!
- Dudley actually says something very emotional and touchy in gratitude to Harry. Never realized Dudley had a tongue before this!
- There's lot of dirt on Dumbledore. Seems he had a sister, Ariana, who was a Squib. His mother, Kendra kept her imprisoned in the home all the time. And, some people say Dumbledore killed his sister!
- But this is what takes the cake... Dumbledore's family lived in Godric's Hollow. That makes him Harry's parents' neighbor.
- Currently, Harry's parents home is lived in by Bathilda Bagshot, the famous author who wrote A History of Magic. Remember the first Harry Potter book?
- There's also a lot about Dumbledore's fight with Grindenwald. There's more to it than meets the eye.
- Viktor Krum makes an appearance. He's a definite hater of Grindenwald. That innocuous symbol on the spine of the book - the triangle with a circle inside it and a vertical line - is Grindenwald's mark.
- Remus Lupin and Nymphadora Tonks get married. No marriage shown here, but Tonks is expecting! Remus doesn't like the idea of his fatherhood, given his werewolf status.
- Bill and Fleur do get married in a very long chapter. Harry attends the wedding in disguise.
- Harry, Ron and Hermione hide in Number 12, Grimmauld Place after the wedding is gate-crashed by the Death Eaters. This is where they meet Kreacher and hear his tale. Kreacher is actually good!
- R.A.B. is unearthed! It is indeed as most people thought. R.A.B. is Regulus Arcturus Black, Sirius Black's brother. Read Kreacher's tale to know about the sad way in which he died.
- Snape become the Headmaster of Hogwarts and some Death Eaters become important professors. Don't know what has happened of McGonagall yet.
- Pius Thicknesse, a Ministry member is Imperiused and he is the new Minister of Magic. Dolores Umbridge runs the show, though.
- Dolores Umbridge had the Slytherin's locket Horcrux!!! Harry, Ron and Hermione get it from her in a very exciting sequence.
That's it for now. Will keep posted.
