Happiness and Sayings About It

In the Bible, Jesus Christ, the Son of God speaks about happy people, called happy from His perspective. What categories of people are the happy ones? Here they are as Jesus Himself states:

"Happy are the poor in spirit: for the kingdom of heaven is theirs." Matthew 5:3

"Happy are those who are sad: for they will be comforted." Matthew 5:4

"Happy are the gentle: for the earth will be their heritage." Matthew 5:5

"Happy are those whose heart's desire is for righteousness: for they will have their desire. " Matthew 5:6

"Happy are those who have mercy: for they will be given mercy." Matthew 5:7

"Happy are the clean in heart: for they will see God." Matthew 5:8

"Happy are the peacemakers: for they will be named sons of God." Matthew 5:9

"Happy are those who are attacked on account of righteousness: for the kingdom of heaven will be theirs." Matthew 5:10

"Happy are you when men give you a bad name, and are cruel to you, and say all evil things against you falsely, because of me." Matthew 5:11
"…and happy is he who may not be stumbled in Me." Matthew 11:6

In the Old Testament God the Father is found as called Jehovah, so the verses that contain this Name, refer to God. What is the taste of God?
Those who know it, say it is good, sweeter than honey. Here are some verses that speak about happy people from God’s perspective:

People who trust and know God.

"Taste ye and see that Jehovah 'is' good, O the happiness of the man who trusteth in Him." Psalms 34:8

"O the happiness of the man Who hath made Jehovah his trust, And hath not turned unto the proud, And those turning aside to lies." Psalms 40:4

"O the happiness of the people that is thus, O the happiness of the people whose God 'is' Jehovah! Psalms 144:15

People who’s strength is in God.

"O the happiness of a man whose strength is in Thee, Highways 'are' in their heart. " Psalms 84:5

"O the happiness of the people knowing the shout, O Jehovah, in the light of Thy face they walk habitually. "Psalms 89:15

People instructed by God who keep His commandments.

"Without a Vision is a people made naked, And whoso is keeping the law, O his happiness! "Proverbs 29:18

"O the happiness of the man Whom Thou instructest, O Jah, And out of Thy law teachest him. " Psalms 94:12

"O the happiness of those keeping judgment, doing righteousness at all times. " Psalms 106:3

"Praise ye Jah! O the happiness of one fearing Jehovah, In His commands he hath delighted greatly." Psalms 112:1

"O the happiness of those perfect in the way, They are walking in the law of Jehovah" Psalms 119:1

"O the happiness of those keeping His testimonies, With the whole heart they seek Him. "Psalms 119:2

"O the happiness of him Who hath the God of Jacob for his help, His hope 'is' on Jehovah his God" Psalms 146:5

People who have found the wisdom of God.

"O the happiness of a man 'who' hath found wisdom, And of a man 'who' bringeth forth understanding." Proverbs 3:13

"O the happiness of the man hearkening to me, To watch at my doors day by day, To watch at the door-posts of my entrance." Proverbs 8:34

"Whoso is despising his neighbor sinneth, Whoso is favoring the humble, O his happiness. "Proverbs 14:21

"The wise in any matter findeth good, And whoso is trusting in Jehovah, O his happiness. "Proverbs 16:20

"The righteous is walking habitually in his integrity, O the happiness of his sons after him! "Proverbs 20:7

"O the happiness of a man fearing continually, And whoso is hardening his heart falleth into evil. "Proverbs 28:14

"To the man with whom he is pleased, God gives wisdom and knowledge and joy; but to the sinner he gives the work of getting goods together and storing up wealth, to give to him in whom God has pleasure. This again is to no purpose and desire for wind." Ecclesiastes 2:26

Happiness seems to be a way of life for those who know God. They are continually delighting in His presence even if they go through tough times. God is there regardless of any circumstance, His perfect and blessed Holy love poured in our lives through His Son’s Jesus Christ sacrifice, is uplifting, fulfilling and sweetest ever, peaceful and perfectly holy.

But who can believe this kind of perfect love exists? If you have never seen real love, it is so hard to imagine how you can be unconditionally loved! Regardless of what you’ve done, regardless of where you’ve been, you can come back in your Creator’s safe hands! He will surely forgive you (if you really want that…you know He can’t be mocked) and restore your soul. Yes, happiness truly exists in God's Hands! You can also taste that! Ask God to give it to you!

Be a person that God can call "my happy child"!
