What is more is that there is not just one type of wedding bouquet made from a particular set of materials. You can always innovate and embellish them. For the brides to be or the maids of honor, this article is for you!
How to Make Hand Tied Wedding Bouquets
# 1
Cut the ends of the stem (if they are too long) and provide the flowers with a long drink. After you are done with that, remove the thorns and the foliage from the bottom half of the stems.
# 2
Lay the flowers on a table and then start with the largest flower in the center. Hold the stem around 20 cms from the base of the head of the flower. Add around 6 clusters of foliage in a uniform manner just beneath the flower head. This will help in filling in and crisscrossing the stems at an angle. Turning a bouquet around as you work will also be facilitated by this.
# 3
Now let the stems be properly secured by winding it with a string a couple of times, without cutting the string. The string will help hold the stems together. Again, place 5 or 6 more of the same type of flowers in an even manner around the bouquet, turning it clockwise.
# 4
Once again tie a string around these stems with a couple of twists of string in the same spot where you had tied it earlier. Keep on adding flowers depending on how big you want your bouquet to be. Just remember to extend the flowers which you keep on adding to the bouquet to lengthen them a bit further.
# 5
The next thing you need to do now is to take a look at the finished bouquet from one side. This is because in a church wedding, this is what the angle of people seeing the bouquet is going to be. A bouquet having a gentle, rounded shape across the top, resembling an upturned saucer is a good choice for hand tied wedding bouquets.
# 6
Repeat crisscrossing the stems and turn the bouquet clockwise for a quarter once you add a few stems. Continue adding stems till you get the desired size. Now once you are done with the flowers, have some wired leaves like Camelia or ivy or even pieces of simple foliage will be great. Place them around the edges and let the tips extend a little past the edges of the flowers. String these pieces of foliage once again and wind the string several times in the place where the bouquet was tied earlier. Now this time cut the string and then tuck the end in.
# 7
Cut the stems of the foliage so that they are around 8 inches long and all are of the same length. Finally, spray the bouquet lightly with water. Tie a nice, wide ribbon around the bouquet to camouflage the string. Tie the ribbon in a shoe lace bow having long tails. To get the perfect look, cut the ribbon at the ends in a slanted way.
Well, wasn't that a breeze? I am sure if you love to play around with flowers, you are going to be able to do it easily and will enjoy it! This is where I sign off! Hail Flower Power!
