Halloween - Fun For Everyone

What do you think will make something scary a whole lot of fun? It would either be if you are a horror movie fan and spend your weekends with your friends watching horror movies or it is fun in the month of October when the Halloween celebrations are just about everywhere. The first one would have los it meaning and we would have lost a complete genre had there been no horror movies lovers and had there been no horror movies being produced time to time to make us shiver.

Both are celebrated universally, but it would be in the second celebration, which would get the distinction of being parent-approved and children participate. Halloween has certainly come a long way from its origins as a Celtic festival celebrated at the end of their harvesting season. Did you know that Halloween came from the word All Hallows’ Even(ing), as in the eve of All Hallows’ Day? This would be the end of October and a long, long time ago, holy man (and woman?) would chuck the bones of livestock slaughtered to appease the bad and nasty spirits waiting to cross over from their realm into ours..

The myth is that the said day of Halloween would occur an aberration in the boundary between the living and the dead, and while the former would never thought of crossing over, it is surely not the case for the latter. The holy men (and women?) believed that if these spirits do crosses over, they would wreak havoc with pestilence and sickness, and thus the sacrificial ceremony over a roaring bonfire. While they chuck in the bones into the blaze, their followers would meanwhile try their level best to confuse the spirits gathering at the invisible barrier cum boundary by wearing horrifying masks and costumes. The latter, it seems, is how the concept of the Halloween celebration came about, with children’s wearing all manners of costumes featuring popular ghosts, ghouls, goblins and monsters, while going from door to door seeking "sacrifice", no longer in the form of bones, but confectioneries like sweets, chocolates and gums.

The moms and dads should not be left behind and should be given equal opportunity to celebrate the festival. To look at it, a Halloween party means more fun for the adults than for the children. While the children will be busy crowding the streets the adults’ would however undergo some planning for the Halloween on the 31st oct.

Most of the time, this party would take on a certain horror related theme of some sort. It could be the highly popular Black Masque of Edgar Allan Poe’s short horror tales, or the Vampires of Transylvania, or the newer Asian-horror movie inspired themes. Aside from coming out with the necessary horrifying, and not to mention, sleep negating, backdrops and props, one thing that the organizers must really stressed on would be in the costume worn by the participants. While it is Halloween sexy costumes can still be had with a good range of characters (all fictional and mythical, of course) for both male and female participants to choose from.

A woman who is really out to show off her (ahem) assets would not go wrong with Halloween sexy costumes queen in comic character Vampirella, with her plunging neckline, bare back and blood red suit. The only drawback would be that it would not scare away but attract attention to you, but, Hey! The only thing that will make you look different, apart from your costume, is your creativity. Adding some creativity to a not so exciting costume can really do wonders. This is only to get ready for the party and rest is left on the enjoyment.
