Hair Iron

Women love to do different kind of hairstyles; hair ironing is the method which use heat, how? Answer lies here…
Hair Iron
Hair irons is an instrument used to change the arrangement of the hair with the help of heat. There are two kinds of hair irons. They are straightening irons and curling irons.

Straightening Irons:
Straightening irons are widely used for straighten hair. In fact, some people actually iron their straight with a clothes iron. Straightening irons sometimes called crimping irons ae electrically heated crimping devices that open up and are clamped on the hair to remove the curl from the hair fibers. Oftentimes, petrolatum-based oils called pressing oils are used in conjunction with the iron or the hot comb to lubricate the hair so that the device can slide more easily through the hair and thus facilitate this process. These oils usually contain waxes and hair conditioners in a petrolatum hair straightening, functioning primarily by cohesive and adhesive forces to help keep the fibers parallel.

Hair Straightening History:
The first hair straightener was invested using chemicals of scalp preparation and lotions to straighten the hair. Years later, heated metal hair care implements such as hot metal combs. Using the metal hair care, the straightener slid easier through the hair, causing less damage and dryness. Japanese hair straightening is another method of hair straightening, which acts as a sort of anti-perm.

Electric Curling Irons:
Electric Hair curling irons use in electric resistance heater inside of a wand that is equipped with a thermal cutoff switch. Some models allow water to be added to generate steam.

Electric curling irons are very popular today for adding curl and lift after blow drying because many popular hairstyles do not require the traditional wash, set, dry procedure. Busy lifestyles that call for more frequent shampooing and leave no time for weekly visits to the beauty salon for traditional sets have also added to their popularity.

The heat emanating from the curling iron breaks some of the weaker hydrogen bonds of the hair, making it possible to temporarily curl it. Most curling irons have a medium and a high setting. The lower setting is less apt to burn the hair or scalp but will not produce a tight curl.

Some curling irons have caps on the end of the curling stick to which water can be added to turn the curling iron into a steam curler. The moisture produced aids in forming the temporary set.

Curling irons are much hotter than electric curlers, and scalp damage can result from careless use. Generally, though, there is no need to worry about damage to the hair from modern appliances as most are equipped with a thermostatic control that prevents the appliance from reaching a temperature at which hair damage could occur. Curling irons should not be used daily on hair that has been chemically treated,.

Curling irons are available with smooth or plastic brush surfaces. The problem with the latter is that the hair is more apt to tangle in the bristles, producing damage. Many curling irons come with two or more curling sticks: two sizes for small and large curls, and both a smooth and a bristle surface.

Get as wild as you like when you are putting that curling iron to use – that is your business. But when it comes to cleaning them, the simplest cleaning method is also the best.

Unplug your curling iron and allow it to cool before cleaning. Then wipe it down with a soft damp cloth. Hair-care products are water-soluble, so even a curling iron gunked up with hair spray or mousse should come off relatively easily with this method.

Avoid using any abrasive cleaners that could scratch or mar the surface of the curling iron. Never clean it while it is plugged in. never immerse a curling iron in water.
