What is a hair dryer diffuser ? How does this diffuser work? Find the answers in the following article...

What is a Diffuser?
These are attachments for your regular hair dryer. There are three different types of attachments that go on a hair dryer - diffuser, airflow concentrator, and comb nozzle. Out of these three attachments, the diffuser is the best attachment that can facilitate curly hair care. Now I know that I said you can use a diffuser on curly hair, don't think that you can't use it on any other hair type. In fact, hair diffusers can be used on fine and permed hair along with color-treated hair.
What Does a Diffuser Do?
I'd like to ask you a question before we begin. Does your hair, after blow drying it, become frizzy and have a little too much volume than usual? This is where the diffuser comes in. This fantastic appliance has the ability to diffuse the heat that comes from the hair dryer. By doing so, the actual process of drying your hair will be slow but the heat won't be harsh on them. It helps in drying hair at a much cooler temperature which in turn keeps your hair free from any damage.
The hair diffuser attachment is different from the airflow concentrator (it concentrates the heat from the dryer on a particular part of hair) and the comb nozzle (similar to the air concentrator; it has teeth like your comb which can dry hair without the need of a comb). So as you can see, the diffuser is in fact the best hair dryer attachment for your hair.
How to Use a Diffuser?
So basically, what we have learned till now is that a diffuser is actually gentle to your hair. As it can evenly distribute heat and won't be too aggressive while using, you can dry your hair with ease. Whether you have coarse curly hair, fine hair, dry hair, permed or colored hair, the steps to use the diffuser are as follows.
- Part your hair from the middle and work on each side at a time.
- Turn the diffuser on and begin at the roots of your hair.
- You will move the diffuser in circular motion and move in one direction.
- Don't turn on the diffuser at high setting. Speed 1 is ideal.
- Hold the diffuser at 90º angle from your scalp as it will aid in lifting the roots of your hair farther from the scalp.
- This technique adds volume to your hair (if it requires it; curly hair people - don't try this).
- Once the first section is done, go to the next section.
