Gwyneth Paltrow to Appear on Glee
Glee has landed yet another big name as a guest star - this time Gwyneth Paltrow is set to appear as a substitute teacher.
It seems that everyone wants to get a piece of Glee - Fox's smash comedy hit that includes musical numbers and dance performances with every episode. Gwyneth Paltrow has managed to maintain a pretty high profile lately, with successful turns in both Iron Man films and she's waiting on the release of her latest effort, Country Strong, where she plays an aging country singer who battles substance abuse.
But her star is about to rise significantly with an upcoming appearance on Glee. In addition to the fact that she'll be on television in prime time, she's going to be re-introduced to a younger generation of fans, many of whom probably only know Paltrow by name and not necessarily much of her work - Iron Man excluded, of course.
Originally, Glee approached Paltrow's husband and Cold Play front man Chris Martin. He declined allowing the show to feature the band's music, but ever since he has done a 180, and granted Fox access to the entire Cold Play catalog. It wouldn't be a stretch to imagine Gwyneth belting out some Cold Play tunes during her turn on Glee, but it's also quite possible that she'll go in another direction altogether.
It's being reported that Paltrow's Glee character will be the subject of a crush by Matt Morrison's character. Hopefully, Paltrow's character will get plenty of screen time with Jane Lynch, probably the most comically talented of anyone on the show and the perfect foil for Paltrow's standard goody two shoes persona.
