Gunman Holding High School Principal Hostage in Upstate New York Surrenders to Police

A high school principal is reportedly being held hostage at a high school in upstate New York, but all of the students have been safely evacuated from the building.
Stissing Mountain High School in Pine Plains, New York is the scene of a standoff between police and a gunman who is holding the school's principal hostage. At this point, it is believed that the gunman has a son in the military and he is upset with current U.S. policies involving its wars overseas. It is unclear at this time exactly who the principal of the school is or if there are any other suspects involved in the situation.

Police have been on the scene since approximately 8:30 AM and all of the students have been evacuated by police. The school is currently surrounded by police and there are choppers flying overhead. The school is located about 90 miles north of New York City.

It is unclear if there are any demands or if any attempts have been made to speak directly with the principal.
