Acoustic Guitar Chords for Beginners

Guitar chords for beginners are simple, and you generally have to use three fingers for holding a particular chord on the fretboard. Professional guitarists normally use four fingers to play diminished and augmented chords to compose different music. They may even use a single finger to play a full chord. Let us take the example of the A major chord on the rhythm guitar.

For the 'A' chord to be played, the pointer finger on the fretting hand has to be placed on the second fret on the 'D' string, the middle finger has to be positioned on the 'G' string on the same fret, and the ring finger has to be placed on the 'B' string on the same fret. In the same manner, for playing the 'G' major chord, the pointer finger needs to be placed on the 'A' string on the second fret, the middle finger has to placed on the 'E' string on the third fret, and the ring finger has to be placed on the third fret, but on the 'e' string (that is the first string). In the same way, the fingers have to be positioned on the specified places on the fretboard. Different finger placements make different chords and sounds. A chord sheet will give you a better idea regarding finger placements.

Bass Guitar Chords for Beginners

Once you are familiar with the notations on the acoustic guitar, you can easily get a hold on the notations of the bass guitar. The notations on a bass guitar are same as those on acoustic guitars. The only difference is that the bass guitar is conventionally played using single notes, and an acoustic guitar is strummed using a chord. However, professional bassists are capable of playing chords on the bass guitar as well. All notations of the last four strings on a typical acoustic guitar are similar to those of the strings of a conventional bass guitar which normally has 4 strings. For getting acquainted with the notations on the bass guitar, one needs to practice the scales thoroughly on the fretboard. The strings on the bass guitar are thick, so one may take a little time to become comfortable on the fretboard.

The ways in which acoustic, bass and electric guitars are played have definitely been changing. There is no typical and formal manner in which these stringed musical instruments can be played. Many guitarists come up with new techniques and methods that are immediately picked up by aspiring guitarists. But you first need to master the guitars chords for beginners to learn the advanced guitar lessons and progress in your guitar playing skills. The decisive point is that one can never in life become a perfect guitarist. Even the best guitar player in the world has only learned a little, playing this wonderful musical instrument.
