If you are selling tickets to an event, offer an early bird discount only to those who are on the mailing list. Other extra features can also be created depending on your company’s product. If you are selling some kind of product for which a hotline would be useful, create a special servicing hotline just for those who sign up on a special list. This kind of service will be useful to your clientele and also make it worthwhile for them to give up their extra contact information for your list. If your product has a warranty period, give those who sign up to be on the list an extension on this offer. This will also increase your company’s user friendly quotient and likely draw them to use your services again in the future.
Finally, it’s important to design your e-mails in a fashion that is conducive for the user to sign up. Don’t make that portion of the e-mail illegible or in a font or color that is hard to read. Be sure that it is prominent and that the information is easily forward-able to friends. These will help you to grow your list by leaps and bounds!
