Growing Old in Simple Verses

I wrote this because I wanted everybody to realize that no matter what - we're all going to die some day.
The day she was born, that was when her mother cradled her.
Soft, warm and full of hugs. A bouncy little girl with such spirit.
This was when she was a baby, a happy baby.

As she became a child, she had a zest for life. A kind personality and a love of art and poetry. Her parents were very fond of her.

When she was fifteen, still interested in art - she began to like boys and makeup. She made her parents proud with her exam results. But, she had her heart broken.

Treading on to adulthood, her parents waved goodbye as she drove to college. Her parents were very upset, but also excited about what the future might bring her.

She left college with a lot going for her, she had money from part-time jobs and she phoned her parents each day.

When she hit the big 30 she met a man named Oliver. She was in a successful catering business, she fell pregnant aged thirty-one and had a son - Tom.

Her parents were very proud, but as she aged, so did her parents. By the time she was forty her dad, Tim had died of a heart attack aged 72.

Her mother was lonely and lived with her.

Soon Tom grew up and went to college, and Grandmother died.

She was alone now, Oliver and her were 60 and she hated it.

Aged 86 Oliver passed away. She was left alone, Tom had started his own family. She missed her parents a lot, she wished she could die.
