Make sure the plate that you take has big enough flat surface, so that the carrot tops can be placed easily in it. Add soil, sand and small pebbles and lukewarm water into the plate. Make sure that only the end of the carrot tops must be dipped under the layer of water and soil. Place this 'carrot plate' in the sunny part of the house.
