Grisly Images on His MySpace Page Get Police Officer Suspended
Jeremiah Love, a 26-year-old police officer in Wichita Falls, Texas, has been indefinitely suspended for displaying his horror movie fantasies to the world.

Love’s web page on MySpace.com, which has now been removed from the site, was listed under the name Leatherface. According to The Wichita Falls Times Record News, Love’s site said that his occupation is "super hero/serial killer" and his favorite meal is "Pizza, human flesh (barbecue only)."

The site also contained a number of graphic images of dismembered women, and disturbing images of a naked woman eating entrails. Pictures also included a bare-chested woman with the word "Loath" carved into her skin.

Authorities are concerned that the images and text on his MySpace site could undermine public confidence in the Wichita Falls police department, so they have suspended Love indefinitely. The assistant city attorney, Julia Vasquez, told reporters that the material posted on his website may make it difficult for Love to be used as a witness to testify in criminal cases. "Love espoused a fondness for violence on his MySpace site," Vasquez said. "These are comments that would make it difficult if he was trying to defend himself against a complaint regarding excessive force as an officer. There may be no evidence of excessive force—but when someone looks at his site, the comments could be used against him in court."

WFPD Chief Dennis Bachman reportedly sent a letter to Love that said, "Since indiscriminate, unlawful and unnecessary use of force by officers of the Wichita Falls Police Department cannot be condoned or tolerated, every use of force that you, Officer Love, will be potentially involved in can be subjected to scrutiny in a court of law."

Love told internal affairs investigators that he had no intention of offending anyone and did not mean for the site to portray violence. He said that he was attempting to be humorous, and the theme of his site was meant to reflect themes of horror movies. He intends to appeal his suspension.
