Grey’s Anatomy Trouble
Katherine Heigl is the latest star of Grey’s Anatomy to have an issue with co-star Isaiah Washington.
By: Shannon Gossage
Heigl slammed Washington Monday night at the Golden Globes for comments he made about co-star T.R. Knight. Washington was asked about an incident that supposedly took place on-set when Washington allegedly called Knight a "faggot" during an argument with co-star Patrick Dempsey. Washington said Monday night, "No, I did not call T.R. a faggot. Never happened, never happened." Heigl later told an Access Hollywood reporter, "I’m going to be really honest right now, he needs to just not speak in public. Period. I’m sorry, that did not need to be said, I’m not okay with it."
Heigl went on to say, "I just feel like this is something that should be very much in house we need to deal with." The original incident stemmed from a reported on-set altercation between Washington and Dempsey when Knight allegedly overheard Washington call him the slur. Knight subsequently came out of the closet to People shortly after the incident. Washington said Monday night, "There is no way I could do anything so vile, and so horrible, not only to a castmate, but to a fellow human being."
Hmmm…Knight tells a different tale on The Ellen DeGeneres Show airing on Wednesday. Knight says that hearing Washington call him a "faggot" gave him the courage to come out of the closet. Said Knight, "I’ve never been called that to my face. So I think when that happened, something shifted, and it became bigger than myself." As for the fact that Washington is now denying using the term Knight said, "I don’t know what to say, really, about that."
