Great Prince Charming... or a Regular Frog? - Part 13 and 14

The wedding.
Mike and Darius allowed me to wear a dress, I didn’t want to wear a men’s suit! I wore white after a long time, just to remind myself of the dream I once had.
It was an incredible wedding, their vows were so touching. After the wedding I took to attending to the guests so that the newly married couple could freshen up.
"V," someone said behind me. My heart stopped. I couldn’t forget that voice, in a thousand years.
"Matt," I said, and turned around to face him.
He looked so handsome. His eyes were still as captivating as before but they seemed more guarded, "How are you?" He asked. I hated that formal tone!
"I am good, how are you?" I asked him.
"Good," he said. "Umm. Excuse me," he said and went to sit at another table. A pretty girl sat next to him. Of course, he must be in a relationship by now! What did you expect, I told myself, he wouldn’t wait around for someone like you.
I felt tears welling up in my eyes and left. Over the last two years I had little resistance to breaking down and crying, and now I felt a huge breakdown coming up and I cried in the washroom, and I even scared some girls away, including the one I had seen with Matt, even before they had entered.
I cried till my whole body shook with weakness, seeing him had made me realize how incomplete I felt without him. I was just about to fall onto the floor when I felt two strong arms grab me.
His face was just inches above mine. His eyes were no longer guarded, and they reflected pain, just like mine. I looked at him, not having the courage to say anything. But I didn’t need to, I think he understood everything just from my face.
"Oh… V," he gasped.
"M..." I whimpered.
He kissed me right there, our first kiss. And we didn’t stop after that, we kept kissing as if there was no tomorrow, as if the times we had spent apart could be made up for in just a few moments.
After a long time, we drew apart and looked at each other. Then he left me without saying a word. I understood, he still wasn’t ready to forgive me. But now I had to fight back. Prince or frog, he was mine.

Part 14
When lovers separate... it seems as though your heart literally breaks into a thousand pieces, as if you are watching your own life from outside yet not living it, in fact, it seems like you are not living at all. When old lovers meet, it's like the end of a storm, when peace is restored, when we start believing in God again, in good things again, in love... again.

I got up on stage to thank everyone for coming. And then… I had to do something.
"Matt, just a moment please." I said as I saw him at a distance, getting ready to leave.
"Ladies and gentlemen, I just want to share a little something with all of you. Three years ago, I was a girl who believed that her Prince would one day enter her life and sweep her off her feet. A guy did come, and I left him thinking he wasn’t the one for me and that I wasn’t the one for him. Thought I loved him… I left him, without telling him on the face."
The crowd started whispering, I could see my friends discussing what I had said and even from where I was standing I knew Matt was in pain. From remembering our past. I fought the same pain that I was feeling and continued.
"And today when I stand in front of you, I just want to say that it was wrong of me to take our destiny into my own hands. God had brought us together, and if we had to part, it should have been with both our consent. I let my prince go." I looked only at Matt and said "I let you go, I am sorry."
I wasn’t prepared for a crowd to see me cry so I fled. My friends met me below the stage and they surrounded me. And now they bombarded me with questions!
Why did you let him go in the first place?
I thought you said you didn’t love him anymore?
Didn’t you say he was a frog?
"Hello, can I have your attention please." Matt called out to the crowd.
"Believe me, I am not one to stand in front of an audience. But as Victoria stood there in front of all of you and apologized, I want her to know that all is forgiven. I forgive you V, and… I love you. I tried to stop, but I…", his voice trailed off.
"I thought you said fairy tales do not come true," Jess whispered.
"And what if he turns out to be a frog," Sherry asked.
"I… don’t care… if he is a Prince or frog," I told them.
"I love you," I shouted at him… and then I ran straight into his welcoming arms.
And as the crowd cheered for us and we walked away hand in hand. I knew that this was the moment I had waited for throughout my life. But I also knew that we would make many new moments together.
