One semester in school, the school board decided to do their bit for the society and organized a fundraising drive. The only trouble was, they didn't really have any brilliant ideas on how to go about it. All they did was provide us with a sheet of paper and asked us to talk to people where-ever, to explain to them what the cause was and ask them to 'help out'. Granted it was for a good cause, but it was really embarrassing walking up to people like that. Maybe I was too paranoid or maybe I was too little, I dunno. But I do remember thinking that the school should have come up with a more interesting way of getting the needed funds. It didn't happen then, but if there ever is a reason for fundraising in the future, I definitely will have some charity fundraising ideas ready. So what I'm thinking is, while I'm at it, I should just give you what you need and help you with those great charity fundraising ideas. So yeah. Read, read.

Charity Fundraising Ideas and Tips

Some of the best charity fundraising ideas are those that are simple in content and genuine in purpose. You just need know how to use them right and you're set.

Playing About
It's simple. It's creative and it's definitely a whole load of fun. What you do is get your brains thinking real fast and bring in a group of kids from your school or if you're an adult then consult a local theatrical or dancing troupe and get them on your side. What then? Organize an awesome play (really awesome) and then advertise for it. Stress on how the play/dance is being organized for a charity event and ask people to throng the show. Promise them of things of great entertainment value and ask them to come on over. When it's a genuine charity show and there is some good to come of it, the good Samaritans of society will do their bit. And you? You'll have your funds.

Sale! Sale! Sale!
There's something about a sale that humans can't resist. Why should this be an exception? Of all the great fundraising ideas, this one is really the simplest. You have a ground especially rented for this event. Either ask the kids to donate second hand books, or buy them at a cut price from a second hand book store. Similarly, you can contact a nursery and ask them to supply plants at a discount. Think of some other products that can be put up on sale thus. Then sell these at a lowered price. The way in which the human mind works, there is bound to be a jumping of sorts for the special offers and sales.

Carnival (Or something like that)
Simplest fundraising idea. Host a carnival and let the events take care of the funds for you. OK so first you put a price on the entry (But of course) and a very small price, mind you. And then you get into the events. What kind of events? College day kind of events. Have a small music station which has a music system and speakers connected all over the place and have a booth to play song requests in. People love this kind of entertainment. Have lovers dedicate songs and messages at a price. What else? Have a roses booth and sell roses at a discounted price. Simple and sweet. Of course a whole load of games can be included in this as well, like have a candy stall and hold a special price for the person who finds the cashew nut in their candy. Something simple like that. It's fun, and it is definitely raising some money for you.

More. Some More
Then there are of course the tried and tested formulas that you can use. Car washes, cookie sales, garage sale, offering services like babysitting, mowing lawns, lemonade stalls and the like. These work just as well. But if you're bored of these, the ones that I have given above should do the trick.

What about these fundraising ideas? You see potential in them? You see them working out? Of course they will. So stop worrying and get cracking on getting these into action. It's going to work and it's going to be good. Mighty, mighty good.
