Everyone today runs round the clock. Life is hectic and there is no time for paying attention towards health. Dust, pollution and unhealthy eating habits, have all become an inseparable part of our routine life! Certainly, all these undesirable elements have an adverse effect on some or the other part of our body resulting into many pains and disorders. Hair graying is one amongst those several problems. This happens with most of the people, not only with people that have just crossed 35, but also young lads that are only into their twenties!

For some, 'not so beauty conscious' people, gray hair might not be a big problem. They would either pluck it or simply ignore it, when they see one and continue with their work. Lack of Essential Nutrients
Lack of proper nutrition and unhealthy eating habits are some of the most common causes for hair graying. The actual reason behind this is the lack of an amino acid called phenylalanine. Phenylalanine combines with the enzymes in the hair and converts itself into melanin. This helps in maintaining the original color of your hair. Some good sources of phenylalanine are milk and eggs and other dairy products. Sometimes, a thyroid imbalance or deficiency of vitamin B12 can also result in hair graying.

Mental Stress and Tension
Mental stress and tension because of a busy lifestyle and excessive workload are the most common reasons of hair graying and in many cases have also caused baldness. Well, regular exercises, yoga and meditation could help in releasing the stress and tension and prove to be an indirect remedy for hair graying!

Heredity
You might be sincere on your diet, performing regular exercises and not under any sort of mental stress and tension. But if heredity is the reason behind hair graying, then there isn't much you can do about it! Premature hair graying can occur, if either of your parents had gray hair at a young age.

Smoking
Smoking! A potential cause for many health disorders, also has a negative effect on hair and causes them to gray. Many studies and observations in the recent past have revealed the excessive smoking affects melanin production in the body and turn hair gray into color.

Exposure to Sun
Regular and prolonged exposure to the harmful UV rays of the sun also leave a bad impact on your hair by lowering down the secretion of melanin. Besides exposure to sun, dust and pollution have also been found out as major gray hair causes.
