Grape Jelly Meatball Recipes

Cocktailed meatballs always serve as a fantastic idea for any evening parties and gatherings. Delicious in taste, they are less time-consuming as well.
There are some famous meatball recipes that you can prepare and keep them to simmer as long as you wish. The more you dip them in different sauces, the more tempting they get. You can even try the cranberry jelly, jalapeño jelly or even the pepper jelly. Any jelly mixed with meatballs does marvels. To make the meatballs more spicy, you can add spices or chopped vegetables of your choice.

Grape Jelly Meatballs

Ingredients
  • 1 pound lean ground beef
  • 1½ cups grape jelly
  • 1/3 cup onion (minced)
  • 1 egg
  • 1/4 cup butter
  • 1 bottle chili sauce
  • A full teaspoon Worcestershire sauce (mixture of vinegar, soy sauce and other spices)
  • 1/3 cup milk
  • Fresh parsley
  • 1/3 cup dry breadcrumbs
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • ¼ tablespoon ground pepper
Procedure
Take a large bowl; mix the beef, breadcrumbs and the milk in it. Blend the pepper, egg, salt, Worcestershire sauce and parsley. Mix it in the beef mixture. Give the beef mixture the shape of a ball in the size of an inch or so. In a frying pan, melt the butter and brown these meatballs over a medium flame. At the other hand, mix the chili sauce and the grape jelly in a medium-sized saucepan. Heat over a medium flame until the jelly gets melted. Pour this sauce over the meatballs and simmer until the meat is thoroughly cooked.

Barbecued Grape Jelly Meatballs

Ingredients
  • 1½ pounds lean ground beef
  • ¼ cup Italian breadcrumbs
  • 3/4 cup regular breadcrumbs
  • 1½ tablespoons parsley
  • 1/3 cup Parmesan cheese
  • Salt and Pepper
  • 1 bottle chili sauce
  • Vinegar (half the chili sauce)
  • ¼ cup brown sugar
  • ½ tablespoon mustard
  • ¼ cup beer
  • ¼ cup grape jelly
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 2 tablespoons lemon juice
  • Garlic powder (a pinch)
  • ½ tablespoon minced onion (dry)
Procedure (For the Meatballs)

Preheat the oven at 180ºC. Thoroughly mix the beef, the Italian and the regular breadcrumbs, Parmesan cheese, parsley, salt, pepper and 2 - 3 tablespoons of chili sauce together. Shape the mixture into balls of an inch or so. Place these meatballs in a non-greased cookie plate and bake for about 20 minutes.

(For the sauce)

Take a saucepan and add the remaining chili sauce, vinegar, brown sugar, mustard, grape jelly, beer, Worcestershire sauce, lemon juice, powdered onion and powdered garlic to it. Stir the mixture continuously and bring to boil. Check the thickness and add water if the mixture demands. Pour this sauce over the baked meatballs and serve in a crock pot decorated with toothpicks!

Swedish Style

Ingredients
  • 2 pounds lean beef chuck (ground)
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • ½ teaspoon pepper
  • ½ teaspoon garlic powder
  • ¼ cup breadcrumbs
  • 1 bottle each, chili sauce and grape jelly
Procedure
Mix the garlic powder, pepper, salt and breadcrumbs to the beef chucks. Mix thoroughly and make into meatballs of an inch or so. Bake in a preheated oven at 180ºC for about half an hour. At the other hand, melt the jelly in the chili sauce in a saucepan over low flame. Combine the baked meatballs with the sauce and serve in a decorated serving plate.

Sweet and Sour

Ingredients
  • 1½ packs frozen meatballs
  • 1 bottle chili sauce
  • ½ bottle grape jelly
Procedure
Boil the grape jelly and chili sauce in a skillet. Add the frozen meatballs to it and cook for about 25 minutes on low flame. Decorate with parsley.

You may be surprised to think about the seemingly odd combination of grape jelly and meatballs, but do try them. I bet you won't get disappointed when you serve these meatball recipes, with mashed potato or as a starter. They will provide the best start to your fantastic dinner!
