Got a Social Group - Take Them White Water Rafting
This article gives you an overview of white water rafting and some places you could visit. It includes places in Scotland, England and Wales.
White water rafting is not something that people do that often or if atoll so it can be a new experience and great fun to take you social group. It can be a great activity for stag and hen weekends, or corporate groups. If you go to a center that offers white water rafting expertness then no river or white-water rafting experience is normally necessary. Full training should be given and each raft should have a white water professional / group leader.
You can normally fit between 8 and 12 people in a boat and your experience can often last around 2 hours with multiple trips down the river or man made course. If you have a larger group then you might want to use several boats to accommodate you all. Most white water rafting activates tend to be based in Wales, and Scotland as they generally have more dramatic scenery with faster running and higher difficulty Grade Rivers. There are a few in England although not many. You can find man made runs in Nottingham and Northampton or Teeside. Some centers in England offer so called white water rafting put it actually involves having a ride in a boat at high speed down a river or on the sea. River Orchy (Scotland)
Situated in the heart of the Grampian mountains, in Argyll away from the hustle and bustle of city life, lies Glen Orchy. This is a tranquil little glen, dotted with a couple of farms surrounded by steep, rugged mountains. It contains a dark secret, for here lays the river Orchy. In the summer it is a gentle trickle, but add typical Scottish weather from September onwards and the trickle grows into a raging torrent!
Denbighshire & Gwynedd(Wales)
White water rafting is available from skylinerafting. You can enjoy rafting through the Welsh countryside at their center in North Wales. Using the rivers natural white-water. Both centre river courses are rated at a level of 3 out of 5.
River Tummel (Scotland)
Situated just north of Pitlochry, the River Tummel is like no other in Scotland. The experience will get you working together to help the guide take the raft from the beautiful deep pools, down through technical rapids such as 'Zig-Zag' and 'Sharks Tooth'. The main part of the trip is grade 2-3 however it does however include a two tier, 18 foot drop (grade 4) into the mystical Loch Faskally.
Nottingham
Experience the thrill of white water rafting at our Nottingham centre. This man made course is rated at a white-water level of 3 out of 5. If you visit the skyline rafting centre you can get on site accommodation for up to 60 people and their rafts take 6 – 8 people.
As well as the center or river, you go to visit you will need to consider transport and accommodation for your group.
