Google Locks Horns With Facebook Over Social Networking
Facebook is raising its concerns over Google’s "Friend Connect Feature" which seems to be flouting with the privacy issues.
Google is not at all happy to muster with its current situation of its online communities, which haven’t been able to strike any chords with the online users in United States. May be that’s why it is hungry to seek the No 1. spot in the social networking hierarchy. But for that it has to rub its shoulders with Facebook, the No.2 online hang-out just trailing behind MySpace.
Few months ago, Google unveiled it’s "Friend Connect" amid much fanfare, which lets the official websites of the renowned "public figures" like musicians, politicians, to inherit their profile’s data from various social networks, but Facebook strongly objected to this and further blocked it’s systems for this attempt of the Google.
One of the blog post by Face book cites that "Google’s act of surreptitiously redistributing the user’s information without letting him know, is a clear violation of privacy act. "
In the Google’s response to the Facebook: "This sharing of details is limited to adding the links to the user’s profile in various social networking websites. Whereas, the information collected from Facebook is replaced with alias’s characters designed by Google." Google pinpointed in a blog post.
Our Take : "You see Google is so hungry for reaching that coveted spot in the social networking circle. So much that it’s ready send all "value based issues" in to the back burner. " said Mr Animesh, Web Marketing Geek, Miracle Studios
