Goodyear Explains The Advent Of New Tire Designs
Current trends in the tires market show seem to ask tire manufacturers to bring about the most unique designs on the tires’ sidewall. The challenge has already been accepted by the various tire manufacturers and Goodyear Tire & Rubber Company, one of the world’s best and most relied on manufacturers of tires, is certainly joining in the bandwagon.
We may not have noticed it but tires do have their own share of design and style. We may think of these car parts as simply those things we have to put on our vehicle’s wheels and rims. We never may have noticed the fact that the people who created the tires we use for our vehicles have gone through much work to bring the market products that would not only serve us and our vehicles best but would also have their own unique style and design.
Current trends in the tires market show seem to ask tire manufacturers to bring about the most unique designs on the tires’ sidewall. And for those tire artists, the canvas is as small as they can get. These artists would not only have to make the designs but would also have to give the tires a greater amount of functionality.
The challenge has already been accepted by the various tire manufacturers and Goodyear Tire & Rubber Company, one of the world’s best and most relied on manufacturers of tires, is certainly joining in the bandwagon. Paul Maxwell, one of the main designers at the mentioned company, shares, "It’s likely that the average consumer doesn’t understand the degree of sophistication that is engineered into tires. The engineers have to create tires that can go faster, last longer, handle more stresses from both higher powered vehicles and consumer abuse, and deal with extreme ranges in temperature and road surfaces." Indeed, the job is not that easy and Maxwell further emphasizes, "And on the appearance end of things, we must make tires look better at the same time, because the cars to which they’re mounted are becoming increasingly more stylish."
Tires are usually black in color and their challenge now is to make that black tire more appealing to those who are simply viewing it aesthetically. Goodyear tire designers are doing their best and keeping at hand their own bag of tricks so as to be able to succeed in the challenge. One of the things they do is to frequently use serrated types of textures so that there is a big and noticeable difference between the raised parts and the smoothed out ones. Combined, Goodyear tires get a whole new look.
