Here are six best ways to stay awake. So the next time you want to stay awake and finish off your class assignment or the next time you don’t want your boss to catch you dozing off in front of your computer, just try one of these good ways to stay awake!
Coffee: The caffeine element of coffee is supposed to shake you up and drive out the sleep out of your system. A hot steaming cup of strong rich coffee ranks on number one position of sleep-busters. So the next time you start falling asleep in your office chair, just rush to the coffee machine and brew a fresh pot of coffee
Splash Water on the Eyes: In case you are feeling really sleepy, you can simply splash some cold water on your eyes. Close your eyes and repeatedly splash the water on your eyelids for about two to three minutes. Your eyes will start feeling cool and you will get rid of your sleep easily.
Lemonade: A glass of fresh lemonade is a great way to stay awake. The vitamin C in the lemon will energize your body and you will feel refreshed and energized. Lemonade helps you to get rid of sleepiness and wakes you up. However make sure that you don’t make it too concentrated in case you are drinking it at night, since it contains citric acid.
Talk/Chat: Make a quick phone call to your friend or talk to your brother/sister for a while. Talking to someone gives you the break that you are looking out for and helps your brain to function and get rid of the sleep. Having a nice talk can help you stay awake, but mind you that the chat can go on and on and make you forget about the reason you wanted to stay awake!
Music: Although it is true that soothing music can actually put you to sleep, loud and peppy numbers can actually help you get rid of the sleep. So in case you are feeling sleepy, it might be a great idea to plug in to some fast and peppy music to get you all pepped up and get rid of the sleep.
Body Movement: If you are feeling sleepy then, moving your body in some or the other way might help you to get rid of the sleep and help you stay awake. In case you are alone at home, you can jump and dance a bit to get rid of the sleep. In case you are at workplace you can climb the staircase or just take a stroll in the lobby.
