Here are six helpful ways on how to remain awake either at work or during class, avoiding a scenario of falling into trouble for snoozing during important times of the day.
Coffee: The caffeine element of coffee is supposed to shake you up and drive out the sleep out of your system. A hot steaming cup of strong rich coffee ranks on number one position of sleep-busters. So the next time you start falling asleep in your office chair, just rush to the coffee machine and brew a fresh pot of coffee.
Splash Water Into Your Eyes: In case you are feeling really sleepy, you can simply splash some cold water on your eyes. Close your eyes and repeatedly splash the water on your eyelids for about two to three minutes. Your eyes will start feeling cool and you will get rid of your sleep easily.
Lemonade: Drinking a glass of fresh lemonade is known to refresh and energize you. The vitamin C in the lemon will energize your body and you will feel refreshed and energized. Lemonade helps you to get rid of sleepiness and wakes you up. However make sure that you don't make it too concentrated in case you are drinking it at night, since it contains citric acid.
Make a Phone Call or Talk to Someone: Make a quick phone call to your friend or talk to your brother/sister for a while. Talking to someone gives you the break that you are looking out for and helps your brain to function and get rid of the sleep. Having a nice conversation can help you stay awake, but mind you that the chat can go on and on and make you forget about the reason for why you called them in the first place.
Music: Although it is true that soothing music can actually put you to sleep, loud and peppy numbers can actually help you get rid of the sleep. So in case you are feeling sleepy, it might be a great idea to plug into your player and tune into some lively music.
Body Movement: If you are feeling sleepy then, moving your body in some or the other way, might help you to get rid of the sleep and help you stay awake. In case you are alone at home, you can jump and dance a bit to get rid of the sleep. In case you are at workplace you can climb the staircase or just take a stroll in the lobby.
