Good Girls....Bad? - Part 21
Hey, I just wanted to say thank you to everyone who reads and comments. Here's chapter 21, only a few more chapters left. This chapter is all Amanda's POV, hope you like it! Enjoy...
Amanda's POV
It took only a little while for Beth and I to get warmed up to each other, and for me to get used to the fact that I actually had someone over. This is the first time I've ever had a friend over, so I was very nervous.
Beth said she would have loved to go shopping, but then it started raining, which for a short time, put a damper on our moods, but we got over that, when mum came in with a huge bowl of popcorn.
"Here's a snack for you girls to munch on while you listen to this...... interesting music." She laughs. We had put on my old CD's which happened to be Britney Spears and the Back Street Boys.
"Thanks," I said when she set it down. I glance at the popcorn and moan. "Mom, there's no butter in it!"
"Well... this way it's healthier."
"Mom, come on....!" She laughs again and looks back and forth from me to Beth.
"Beth," she asks. "Do you like butter in your popcorn dear?"
Beth smiles, almost shyly. "Actually, Mam I like it either way, thank you."
Mom smiles.... a huge smile... a smile as large as the bowl of popcorn.... Well not really, but you get my point. She liked her answer, of course.
I glance at Beth, to see her face getting slightly red. Cute, she was embarrassed by my mother.
"Okay mom," I say hoping she'll take the hint and leave. "Plain popcorn's fine." She nods, clearly seeing that Beth was getting embarrassed. She took her leave, shutting the door softly behind her.
Beth and I look at each other and break into a fit of laughter. Then she reaches over and turns up the radio, looking at me to see if it was okay. I nod, and reach over when she was done and crank it up.
"This is a story about a girl named Lucky," Beth says with flare and then giggling we start singing...
We sing as loud as we can. I sounding like a sick cat, and her, sounding like she's taken years and years of singing lessons from the best teachers. She has the most beautiful voice I've ever heard.
"Early morning, she wakes up,
Knock, knock, knock on the door,
It's time for make up, perfect smile,
It's you, they're all waiting for, they go.
"Isn't she lovely, this Hollywood girl?"
And they say.
She's so lucky, she's a star
But she cry, cry, cries in her lonely heart, thinking,
If there's nothing missing in my life,
Then why do these tears come at night?
Lost in an image, in a dream,
But there's no one there to wake her up,
And the world is spinning and she keeps on winning,
But tell me what happens when it stops? They go.
Isn't she lovely, this Hollywood girl?
And they say."
I stop singing and just stare at her. When she notices, she stops singing also, and shrugs. "What?"
I shake my head, "How did you end up with a voice like that?" I ask.
"I know, I know, I sound bad, but hey! I don't care! I love singing, and I don't think it matters how bad I sound."
"Wait, what? Your sound is amazing!"
"Ha. Funny, thanks, but no."
"Yeah!"
She shakes her head and sprawls out on the floor. I giggle as she pretends she's choking and then lays still, as though she is dead. It totally looked real. I poked her to make her laugh, but nothing happened.
So I took my foot and pushed on her body, she still didn't get up. Thinking something really was wrong with her, I kneel down beside her and softly call her name. "Beth? You okay?.... Beth?" I shake her a few times before I really get scared. "Beth! Answer me." Just as I was about to run to my mom to get help, Beth rolls over and grabs my foot.
"The dead attacks!" She yells, and I scream.
"Girls! What are you doing up there?"
We laugh, so hard our stomachs hurt.
"Nothing," I call down, "Beth just died and then came back to life."
We laugh even harder and mom starts coming up the stairs, we squeal and then jump on my bed waiting for her to come in. She knocks, just barely, before opening the door, and peers inside.
"What on earth were you doing?" This time it's Beth that blurts out, "Nothing" before we start laughing again.
Then Beth gets a very serious face and then says with a perfect British accent: "Mam, we are ever so sorry to disturb you whilst you are busy, but we have finally recalled to life the dearest humanity of a small girl."
"What?" Mom say bewildered
All three of us laugh at the absurdity of that statement. Since it didn't even make sense. Mom just grins at me with a look that said: where has this girl been all your life? And I have to admit, I've asked myself the same thing numerous times since Beth got here.

Becky Mullins - Wow! Thanks so much Becky! Or should I say Rebecca? just kidding.. Rebecca is actually my real name too. But I'd rather be called Becky also. You're lucky, I have to keep Rebecca in the school records not Becky. Anyway... You are so supportive! What would I do without you?! I don't even want to think about it.... Thank you so much! I love writing songs, and I would love to read yours! I bet it's fantabulous! Lol your brother sounds like a hand full, but I'll betcha that when you're both older, you'll appreciate him like crazy. He'll be the "big" brother who's there to protect you and beat up any guy who tries to hurt you! As for your sister. Sorry you had to have your phone taken away, but I think... yeah, I think it was worth it! Month though..., that's a LONG time to be grounded! Sweet! My lil' sister is turning 12 in Oct. cept' she's no blast, she's just all annoying. (She's one of those people who think they rule the world ya know? She thinks she's so much better than me and all that.)
Aw well, can you tell Emma thank you for me? (for reading my story, and even you commenting under her name?) Oh, and I emailed you, I hope you got it. It wasn't much, I just wanted to see if it'd work first... oh and I'm so sorry to inform you, but I must admit, there was no heart attack when I read that you were dying. So sorry, but I did feel sorry for your poor soul... does that count? :Poh and the last thing, thank you so much for sticking up to me (to LALA) I so totally appreciate that! You are wonderful! Thank you so much! I am so glad that you are there for me when people are so negative!
JC - Thank you so much for commenting! I am so happy you like my story!
Beth - Thanks and I like how my name's in your new story. Btw. Just saying!
Manda - Lol yes, I do realize that, and you're actually the second person to comment about that, I believe. I myself, only realized it after, like the third chapter, and no it was on purpose haha, but thank you for reading and commenting!
Lala - Well, I have to say thank you for commenting even if it was all negative. But that's okay, I'm not offended or anything. Actually it doesn't even bother me. Everyone has different opinions and likes. I'm glad you at least read my story though! And took the time to comment. But I must say, if you don't like a story... why read it? I knew from the beginning I would get negative comments, and I have, but that doesn't mean I'll stop writing... sorry.
Stupid Lala - Thanks a lot! For sticking up for me, but that was... mean. Lol, she just has a different opinion, no big deal. But I do appreciate you being there for me, and telling her off... even if it was in a ... harsh way. Thanks!
