Awkward silence was placed between me and Trent during the longsome car ride. With Trent's eyes focused on the road, I averted my eyes outside the window. Faint images of the trees swaying blurred through my eyes. All I could think about was Sam. I couldn't help but notice how much he had changed.

Being in Sam's presence was comforting, somehow. His steel gray eyes were captivating, enchanting. Always easygoing. His silky inky black hair against my fingers. Sam's bubbly personality. It was as if Sam never lost his touch.

Stop it Night! He's with Savannah I thought bitterly. Thinking that made something rage inside of me. Do I like Sam? No, I stated fiercely. I don't like Sam. I closed my eyes, dismissing the thoughts of Sam. After opening my eyes, I blinked a few times when I realized where Trent was driving towards to.

OUR secret place.

How did he find it? We had purposely chosen this as our secret hideaway for no one had come here for almost a century. Everybody thought the place didn't exist anymore. As I gaped in shock, sweet, taunting memories filled my mind.

"What? Special memories here?" Trent sneered.

How did he know? A devious smirk surfaced on his face, a knowing look glinted in his eyes.

Why did I suddenly feel shivers go down my spine and why did I feel frightened? Something is definitely up, I hadn't known Trent for more than a week and he knows one of my stored secrets? One that not even Trinity knows about?

Eerie.

Uncomfortably I slid out the car and swiftly ran through the gorgeous meadow. I ran my hand through the fresh grass, the rain drops staining my fingers. I breathed in the misty, earthy smell. I stroked the blooming flowers. My hand traced the heart and lettering that was carved onto the tree.

S+N = <3

Someone cleared their throat obnoxiously, disrupting me from my trance. Fury sparked inside of me, though I didn't show it. Trent doesn't belong here. I don't belong here.

The only thing that should be able to stay here was the silhouette of the memories that were left behind.

My appetite boosted when I saw Trent unpack Italian food. Like the last time I ate slowly. Only this time I was thankful for it. Honestly, the spaghetti was bland, flavorless. I sighed inwardly, this was nothing like Sam's cooking.

Compared to Sam's cooking this was utter disgrace.

Desperately I clutched the handle. I forcefully managed to speak out and spread an easy smile on my face.

"I had a good time tonight,"

Trent smiled, "Me too,"

He leaned over to kiss me, but I cocked my head to the side. His lips landing on my cheek instead. I could've sworn I heard a menacing growl escape. But that could've just been me. Right?

Shutting the door closed, immediate rain poured on top of me. Trent sped off as I slammed the door shut. I shook my head rain drops flying off my hair.

"Have fun?"

Holy crap! I covered my heart with the palm of my right hand, facing what could be a murderer.

"Damn it Sam! You could've given me a heart attack!"

Seriously, how did he get inside of the apartment?

He chuckled softly, "Sorry."

My heart was racing, and it wasn't because of the random surprise he had just pulled.

I tossed my jacket and keys on the sofa while trying to calm my heart. Sam's eyes followed my simple movements. As if slipping out of his fantasy world he started the lovely conversation with :

"Who is he?"

"Trent." I answered nonchalantly. I didn't take notice of how he flinched and froze.

"Trent Hues?" He whispered.

I nodded slowly, how did Sam know him?

Sam caught me by surprise by barring his face with his hands, shaking his head while cursing under his breath. I managed to hear "How did he find me?"

"Is everything okay?"

He shook his head, ignoring me completely. Instead he continued rambling "Sh*t! What am I going to do now?"

I slowly made my way over to him, placing my hand on his shoulders. I ignored the tingling sensation my actions had caused. I rubbed his shoulders soothingly. His speaking slowed.

Catching me off guard he laced our fingers together, staring inside of my eyes intently.

"Do you trust me, Night? No matter what happened, would you still trust me?"

I immediately blurted out, "Yes."
