Gone But Never Forgotten

About the lost of a close one.
I called you my sister,
I called you my friend;
Even thought you wasn't a mister,
I said, "Yo what up man."

I could've told you everything,
My secrets, my fears, my lies;
I knew you understood me,
So I didn't have to deny.

We acted "MENTAL" in public,
We acted "CRAZY" at school;
We sometimes didn't look right,
But we said "Forget it, its cool."

You kept me on my feet,
You told me not lie;
I tried to keep you off the streets,
My word I tried...

I never forgave myself for what happened that day,
You was my buddy, my honey, my partner-in-crime;
You was LOVE,
I was PEACE;
Together we made destiny.

I told my self No, No, No, it wasn't true,
But the next day at school;
I busted out to cry,
Then I told myself a lie.

"It wasn't a dream, it was real,"
But then I realized;
That you had left for a reason,
And for you it was time.
