Goji berries: Organic, Healthy, Delicious, Super

How great would it be if there were a food that satisfied everything you thought a food should be. For me it would have to taste great, be healthy and if it was organic that would be a plus. Well if you are like me then the wait is over. The food is here and most people call it the goji.
There are many different foods that are said to be good for you floating around out there in the overwhelming world of health, wellness and weight loss. Most of which you are already familiar with, however, there are some that go above and beyond in these areas, and given the opportunity, could potentially change the way you live your life.

One of the newer terms we are hearing that has been adopted with seemingly great reception is "Superfruit". And even more specific than that comes in the form of a tiny berry called Goji. What makes this fruit so super? Well, first of all it is extremely rich in antioxidants, which are nutrients, found in certain foods that can slow, or even prevent oxidative damage to our body. These toxins can manifest themselves in the form of heart disease, diabetes, and even cancer. Antioxidants seek out these "free radicals" and devour them, thus fending off the potentially serious harm they can cause.

Besides their antioxidant properties, in studies, these berries have been shown to help protect the liver, improve eyesight, sexual function and fertility, boost immune function, strengthen the legs and promote better blood circulation. Not to mention, they are one hundred percent organic.

Why should you care about whether they are organic or not? Generally, in commercial agriculture, insecticides and other poisonous chemicals are used in crop growth. After the fruits are harvested and processed, molecules of these harmful chemicals can still be found in the finished product. And while these are only trace amounts, they are still poisonous to the body. The liver will extract some and excrete it as waste, but the rest will be stored in you body's tissues, and these poisons do not ever go away.

Organic fruits and vegetables, such as the Goji, do not use any harmful chemicals in their growth process or in the extraction of their juices. As a matter of fact, the berries are cold pressed, meaning that the are simply put into a vat as is, and squeezed, requiring no heat or additives of any kind to complete this process.

So what does a Goji berry taste like? Well, you will not likely find them in a fresh, raw form in the US. Usually they enter the country already in a dried form. These berries are very similar to the shape and texture of raisins. However, they have there own unique sweet and sour flavor that has most recently been made popular in juice form.

Not only is Goji juice one hundred percent kosher, vegetarian, chemical free, safe and healthy to drink. But to top it all off, it is absolutely delicious. And the only way to find this out, would be to get out there and try it for yourself. The best part is, you have absolutely nothing to lose, and so many benefits to be gained.
