God Sees Us as Sheep

Numerous times, God compares humans with sheep in the Bible. You know, sheep are not the most intelligent of creatures but there is a good thing about them, they recognize the voice of their shepherd.

The same way, Jesus came to be the Shepherd of the world’s lost sheep, to gather them all together in a single flock.

"Most certainly, I tell you, one who doesn't enter by the door into the sheep fold, but climbs up some other way, the same is a thief and a robber.

But one who enters in by the door is the shepherd of the sheep. The gatekeeper opens the gate for him, and the sheep listen to his voice. He calls his own sheep by name, and leads them out. Whenever he brings out his own sheep, he goes before them, and the sheep follow him, for they know his voice. Jesus therefore said to them again, "Most certainly, I tell you, I am the sheep's door.

All who came before me are thieves and robbers, but the sheep didn't listen to them. The thief comes only to take the sheep and to put them to death: he comes for their destruction: I have come so that they may have life and have it in greater measure.

I am the good shepherd. The good shepherd lays down his life for the sheep. He who is a hired hand, and not a shepherd, who doesn't own the sheep, sees the wolf coming, leaves the sheep, and flees. The wolf snatches the sheep, and scatters them. The hired hand flees because he is a hired hand, and doesn't care for the sheep.

I am the good shepherd, and know my sheep, and am known of mine...even as the Father knows me, and I know the Father. I lay down my life for the sheep.

I have other sheep, which are not of this fold. I must bring them also, and they will hear my voice. They will become one flock with one shepherd." Citation from John 10.

It is God’s pleasure to do good to us, to give us life! Just as a new born baby cannot crawl or walk to the second floor of the house- or anywhere for that matter- the same way, it is impossible for us to try to reach God, unless He comes to reach us. Yes just as you the adult need to go feed your newborn child, the same way, God had to come to make us understand that He loves us. He showed and proved His love by sending Jesus Christ on the Earth to show us what real life means, to make us understand that life does not stay in ones possessions regardless of how great these might be.

Jesus told us that God is so Holy that no human can come close to Him but through Jesus’ sacrifice. Yes, although Jesus could have come down from the cross, He chose to die for all our sins and pay the debt we had before God. The debt has been paid!!! What a grace! We can live free of sin, we can have life from abundance and love forever!

Yes all your struggles, sins and shame can have an end, the moment you bring them to Jesus, telling Him to save your soul and letting Him lead you all your life. Why would not you do that? He is Almighty, He loves you tremendously and He is much more intelligent than you’ll ever be! Besides He sees your life from the beginning to the end, He knows what you go through!

"The LORD is my shepherd, I shall not be in want. He makes me lie down in green pastures, he leads me beside quiet waters, he restores my soul. He guides me in paths of righteousness for his name's sake.

Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil, for you are with me; your rod and your staff, they comfort me. You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies. You anoint my head with oil; my cup overflows.

Surely goodness and love will follow me all the days of my life, and I will dwell in the house of the LORD forever." Psalm 23

Jesus said: "Don't be afraid, little flock, for it is your Father's good pleasure to give you the Kingdom." Luke 12:32

Life is lived with maximum motivation with Jesus as Redeemer and Friend! Life for free! The debt has been paid for!
