God of War 3 Review

One of the most exciting video game launches of 2010 is God of War 3. In this article I present a God of War 3 review for all those of you who are eagerly looking forward to playing it.
The revenge of Kratos reaches its conclusion in this final installation of the God of War trilogy. We join our hero as he takes on even bigger foes and is armed with even more lethal weapons of destruction. God of War 3 was developed by Santa Monica Studio, the video game developer arm of Sony computer entertainment world wide studios. It was launched by Sony in March 2010 as the fifth part of the series launched for the Sony PlayStation 3 (PS3) platform. With a development cost of $44 million, this sequel to is as action packed as the previous versions. Here I present a God of War 3 review that will highlight the exciting new features of the game and let you decide whether the game is worth the hype.

God of War 3 Reviewed

As you begin playing the game based on Greek mythology, you will realize that all that was good in the previous versions has been retained. Those who have played the previous two versions of the series will find the transition to this new game quite smooth. To put it simply, the overall designing of the game remains the same but the visuals or the graphics are simply awesome. The battles are more gruesome and gory than before, with action that will thrill you to the core. Be ready to enter Kratos's universe filled with Greek Gods and Goddesses, Titans and breathtaking battle scenes.

The main weapons in Kratos's arsenal are the Blades of Exile (which are blades of Athena initially), Claws of Hades, Nemesis Whip and Nemean Cestus. Each of these weapons is endowed with magical powers that you can use. Blades of Athena give you 'Divine Reckoning' power, Claws of Hades give you 'Soul Summon' power, Blades of Exiles give you 'Army of Sparta', Nemean Cestus gives you Nemean Roar, while the Nemesis whip gives you Nemesis Rage.

Besides these weapons, our hero can regain his health and magic upgrades through Phoenix feathers and Gorgon Eyes. There is a sex-mini game included consisting of an encounter that Kratos has with the Greek Goddess of Love, Aphrodite. Kratos also earns about 36 trophies for his achievements in the game. The game comes with a challenge mode which test the player's skill even more.

Expect harder levels as the number of maximum enemies that Kratos faces has been increased to 50 from the 15 in earlier versions. Most reviews have all given full marks to the great graphics and rendering that the art team has come up for this game. The game has been launched after intensive testing and there are almost no snags to be revealed. Personally, I think that the team has done a great job of weaving together the complex story and making it even more exciting than the previous versions.

As a God of War 3 walk-through would reveal, the action starts as our hero is climbing Mount Olympus with the Titans to attack the abode of Greek Gods. From there, Kratos battles on through a web of deceit and treachery, confronting one danger after the other. Ultimately he battles Zeus and kills him in combat. In the end he grants the power of 'Hope' to humanity by refusing to hand it back to Pandora and almost dying in the process. This is not going to be the last of the Kratos adventures and I am hoping that we will meet the fiery hero in future installments.

I am sure that after reading this review, you will be eager to lay your hands on the game as soon as possible. Personally, I think that the game does live up to the overall hype and Sony has indeed delivered as always. The God of War universe awaits your return!
