Global Warming & the Bush Administration

President George W. Bush administration attempts to undermine the science of global warming
Truth be told: talk is cheap. However, many believe that President George W. Bush doesn't think so. Fact: repeatedly, his administration attempts to undermine the science of global warming. Last year California adopted rules which "will require a 30 percent cut in carbon dioxide emissions from cars and light trucks by 2016, a target that will most likely be met by big increases in fuel efficiency. However, just as early as yesterday, he released new fuel efficiency standards. Analysts say that his regulations will have little or no impact. In fact, they say it may actually encourage automakers. With Clean Air Acton a standstill, State governments have attempted their own compromise. However, even they have met opposition. Just recently the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency denied California's request for a waiver under the Clean Air Act, which would have enabled California and 17 other states to impose stricter-than-federal limits on greenhouse gas emissions from motor vehicles. The state of California is already preparing to fight the decision. A decision the White House is all too happy about. Even with solid proof, Bush continues to make addresses, as if he lobbying for the environmental protection. But lobbying groups in his administration (funded by one of the world's largest oil giants) even went as far as to offer a whopping $10,000 each to scientists just to the dispute global warming. Does that sound like he supports greenhouse sanctions to you?
