Glimpses of Me

This poem is about knowing someone who has lost themselves and yet you see part of yourself in them.
The angels softly call her name
As I do the same
She can’t hear us, lost in the foggy night air
Some may think she doesn’t care

I know better though
I’ve been by her side through it all
Even now as tears fall down my cheeks
I’ll be there to catch her if she falls

I don’t believe what I hear
Sometimes I don’t even believe what I see
For when I look at her
I see glimpses of me

Missing days of yesterday, where did they go?
In the end no one really knows
Trapped by her own fears, she fights to make things clear
I only want to pull her close and hold her near

I don’t believe what I hear
Sometimes I don’t even believe what I see
For when I look at her
I see glimpses of me

Ohhh I don’t believe what I hear
Sometimes I don’t even believe what I see
For when I look at her
I see glimpses of me

Yes I see glimpses of me
