• 3/8" V shaped trowel
• Razor knife
• Saw
• White thinset mortar/Mastic adhesive
• Glass Tile Mosaic
• Sponge Swab
• Grout

Most of this stuff will be available at your neighborhood hardware store. Measure the dimensions of the kitchen walls that are to be covered with the backsplash which will give you an idea about the dimensions of glass tile mosaic sheets you'll need. You can have a lot of choice for glass tile patterns and colors. You don't need to know how to cut backsplashes as they are stuck on sheets of paper (usually on the side of the tiles facing outside). During installation, you just have to remove them from the sheet.

The first part is setting up the wall on which you plan to install the tiles. Clean the wall properly and check out whether the tile mosaic can cover the whole wall adequately. For the tiles to stick on the wall, you need to apply the thinset mortar on the wall. Mix the thinset mortar properly and keep it ready for application. You could also use a mastic adhesive in place of the thinset mortar to stick the tiles.

Using the V shaped trowel, apply the thinset evenly on the wall. Cover the entire area of the wall and take care that no voids remain in between. Then press the glass tile sheet down on the thinset mortar until it sticks firmly. Let the tiles set in the mortar for an hour.

After the tiles have set in, wet the paper cover with a sponge. Once its wet, the mosaic paper sheet will easily peel off, leaving the tiles firmly set on the wall. Let it stay that way for a day. Then you can apply grout to fill in the spaces between the tiles. Clean off any grout stains that form over the tiles and let the wall cure for some time. With that, your backsplash is ready!
