Gifted - Chapter 2

The second chapter....
So that was only my first time encountering what I believed to be a ghost. I had so many other encounters that I lost track of some of them. Over the years I had learned more of my powers, how to carefully handle it, and of evil and good ghosts/ spirits. There were many others like lessons I learned, such as with great power comes to great responsibility or keeping my so called ‘gift’ a secret. But there was this one time when typically my whole school found out, then my town and then the whole world found out…I also discovered a little thing myself as well. I wasn’t the only kid alone in this or the only kid who is gifted.

So this story begins a few years back. Back when I was still in middle school. I had this really cool class and it was one of the best classes I ever had. We were like a complete Asian class and real competitive too. We won almost every thing such as intramurals or some other challenges.

One day while I was in our homeroom class, our phone starts to ring and one of the girls picked it up .The call appeared to be from room 315, but there was no such number on any classrooms here because of how small our school was. The highest room number was 225 I think…anyways, no one was there so everyone just forgot about it and went back to work. The teacher didn’t seem to be much help because she didn’t pick it up since the phone was all the way across the room from her desk. When a girl named Charlotte in our class told the teacher about it, our teacher Mrs. Mali didn’t believe her at all.

After a while the phone rings again and a girl named Michelle went to pick it up. A moment later she screamed, well kind of. She told her friends that she heard hard breathing noise and someone or something on the other line saying ‘Your next…’ At first I wanted to get to the bottom of this, thinking it might be some paranormal thing, but then I found out what really was going on…a prank… I was just listening and maybe laughing to myself because I saw the boys in our storage room using the phone there. There was no room number labeled, but I was pretty sure it was them who did the prank.

Anyways the prank happened for almost a week and by now the girls got scarred to death, except for me…Mrs. Mali started to get worried about this whole thing, but then at the last moment, the girls found out what really happened. Alice saw a boy in the storage room using the phone and eavesdropped before telling the rest of the girls what she heard. At the end of the day when the boys where heading to their lockers, a stampede of angry girls rushed at them. All I did was laugh and watched. Everything had seemed to go back to normal for a month until something else happened…

The phone rang again in our room, this time the number said 444 and everyone was all confused. Immediately, the girls went to the boys a demanded an explanation, but when the boys even had nothing, everyone was confused. Even our teacher was confused, so she phoned the office about it and all they said was that a janitor would come and fix it later that day. The phone rang many times each time the same thing happened. The line went dead. Each girl made one another pick it up and then there was another call at the end of the day. This time Michelle picked it up and then she screamed. She uttered about how something out there is going to get her, but the rest of the class just left as they bell rang for home time. I watched as Michelle ran and then chased after her. I knew something was up, but I wasn’t too sure what it was. I saw her make a turn towards the basement; yes our school is so old, that it has one of those. Anyways when I was down there, I saw a puddle of blood surrounding her and that her nose and mouth was bleeding. "What’s….what’s happening to me?" She asked confused. I didn’t answer and stayed silent.

Then I took one step back and what happened next came too quick. Michelle blew up… I am serious, she blew up into pieces. All I did was shake my head before running up the stairs again screaming for help. I was stopped by a girl about my age, but I knew she was a spirit and I had a feeling she was a bad one too. The girl was wearing a bloody dress and her eyes were piercing red. "Oh lookie here, did your friend just explode?" Asked the girl. Then she giggled again. "Oh well, tough luck, you’re next." The girl stated before floating off. Before she could get any more further, I pulled out a piece of paper out of my pocket. It had weird ancient writings on it and I threw it on the girl’s back.

"Goddess of light, controller of dark, send this spirit to the under ground world!" I screamed out. Suddenly there was a portal behind the spirit and it started to suck her in. The girl screamed as she tried to hold on, but she ended up tumbling in. "I’ll get you back!" She bellowed and then the portal closed.

By then I was on the ground panting. I saw a quick movement and saw my enemy, Kyle recording everything. He snickered before running off. I knew it was bad because cameras and some types of video cameras can actually detect the spirit and images it onto it. I tried to run after him, but it didn’t work. I thought it was bad enough that he had proof of me just doing a spell, but also he knew and had some proof that I would locate missing things, including people and solve mysteries easier then other people.

It was too late when I tired to run after him because he had a bike and rode away. I also found out that Kyle’s parents was one of the people that tries to capture people like me and put them in labs for testing. But I never knew that he was worse then that…he was part of a gang and they wanted to use me for evil things, unspeakable things…they had collected a few people like me already, but I have no idea of that until was on the run…
