Getting the most from your cigar

A few tips on how to make your smoking experience the most enjoyable.
Getting the most from your cigar
To truly appreciate a fine cigar, you must look at it as more than a plant in a wrapper. It is, after all, far more than that. A good premier cigar is a rare thing. There has been great care, patience, and diligence in making it, from the hand-rolling process all the way to the tobacco store. Consider the cigar/wine metaphor. Would you drink a fine glass of 200-year-old wine while eating hot dogs and watching the football game with the boys? Of course you wouldn’t. That would be a crime! The scenario is the exact same with cigars. The right cigar deserves the right environment.

Environment

Begin by finding the perfect environment. Choose somewhere that is beautiful, yet non-distracting. The beach is always good, if you are the only one on it. A spot with some beautiful country scenery is absolutely perfect, particularly during the spring when it’s not too cold and not too hot, when the birds are singing and the sun is shining.

The Proper Drink

Next you need to have the proper drink with you. If you are a new smoker, it is important to understand that particular drinks go well with certain cigars. There is no guide to this, as everyone has a different sense of taste. Most high-profile cigar smokers, however, will usually prefer a nice strong coffee, tea, or possibly a cognac. Rare red wines are also very good sidekicks for a nice cigar.

Don’t smoke on an Empty Stomach

Have a little snack before you smoke, nothing too filling and nothing that will taint your palate. Pick something that isn’t very strong. Just something to wake your taste buds up a bit and prepare them for the adventure ahead.

Find Your Peace

Lastly, clear your mind. Take a few minutes and just relax, perhaps take a warm bath, and let the world and all its’ worries begin to seep away. Realize that the world is an ongoing place and all the problems that you had yesterday are gone. Today is a new day. Nothing else matters except this very moment in time and this fine cigar that you hold in our hand.

Then, light the cigar up and enjoy it for all its’ worth. You paid good money for this cigar. If it is a good cigar, you paid enough for it that smoking it should not be just something to do. Take your time, prepare, and get the most out of your cigar experience.
