If you know someone who could use some cheer, get well gift baskets are a fun way to show you care. These baskets can include items that fir the personality of the person that is receiving it. Customized baskets make unique get well gifts that are fun to give and wonderful to receive.

Many companies make gift baskets that can be delivered, as well. If you are feeling creative, making a gift basket can really add a personal touch. You can choose a theme to go with and start thinking of items to fill your basket up. Depending on what you want to put in it will depend on the size basket you will want to purchase.

A cute idea for a sick friend is a chicken soup basket. Buy a round, deep basket with a cloth lining or line the basket with a colorful hand towel or tissue paper. Then buy 2-3 cans of soup and arrange them in the basket. Include a spoon and cloth napkin to the basket and your friend will have everything they need. If your basket is big enough, a cute stuffed animal, such as a chicken or baby chick would look adorable.

If your friend is on bed rest due to a broken bone or other injury a candy or cookie basket is a good choice. If you don’t know what kind of candy they like, as around. A basket with different kinds of chocolate is sure to be a hit. Including a magazine or book in the basket is a great idea if your friend is going to be on extended bed rest.

If it is a child that is sick, get well baskets with toys is a great choice. You have numerous themes to choose from. A cuddly stuffed animal is always welcome. Adding a coloring book and some crayons or markers is a creative touch. Any toy that can be played with quietly while lying in bed or on the couch is good to include in your basket.

When you arrange the basket, you can arrange the items in several different ways and then choose which way looks best. Tall items look nice in the middle or back with smaller items arranged around them. Sprinkling individually wrapped candy around the bottom of the basket around the bigger items is a nice touch. Also, if any of the items are breakable, you may want to consider wrapping them in tissue to avoid breaking them while the basket is being delivered.

Finish your basket by attaching a large ribbon or bow to the handle or front. If you want to wrap it, cellophane works well. Get a large piece and sit the basket on top of it. Grab two sides and pull up, then repeat with the other two sides. Wrap a twist tie or additional ribbon around the four sides and tie securely. And a card and your basket is complete.
