Get Out From My House! Chapter 1
Hope you enjoy it! and please comment...
Katherine Johann or better known as Katy for her family, was rushing madly back to her new house in Townsende; a small but friendly town. She inherited that old but large house recently from her deceased grandmother. She was satisfied with the house because her siblings only inherited their grandmother's jewelry and clothes.
With a paper bag of new lingerie in her hands, Kat was careful of not losing them. They were her next big photo shoot. She will be famous if people notice her in that lingerie. She crossed a road and her feet were beginning to move faster.
Before Kat realized that she was heading towards a man, who was also as blind as a bat, it was already too late. Kat let out a scream when she was knocked out of her breath but the man caught her before she could fall.
Hunter Richardson was pissed off that the apple that he just bought with his last money was dropped to the ground when the girl in his arms now had knocked it out from his hand. But suddenly he felt calm when the scent of the girl brushed his nose. She smelt of lavender. His favorite flower.
He looked down at the girl who was clutching a paper bag tightly to her chest. Her eyes were closed and her face was slightly red, probably the impact from him. Hunter noticed that the girl had the most beautiful face he had ever set his eyes upon. She had beautiful skin, straight nose and lips maybe a little too wide. But when she opened her eyes, Hunter was completely taken away by her eye color. It was a mix of green and blue. Very unusual color and he suddenly felt like déjà vu. He'd seen these pair of eyes before.
'Are you alright, sir?' she asked with her face still buried against his chest.
Katherine shook away the dizziness and lifted her eyes slowly to the stranger's face. The stranger was a very handsome man but his face was tired and unshaven. His eyes were blue and when she looked into them, she felt like she was floating in the sky. Odd, she thought, she had felt the same way too when she looked at Hunter Richardson, the handsomest but arrogant boy in her high school.
Hunter smiled and nodded his head. Her voice sounded like the bells. She sounded exactly like Katherine Johann, the Queen of the Nerds. In high school, Katherine was the only girl he had never tried flirting. He claimed that she was the ugliest girl he ever seen. With those ridiculous large glasses and frizzy large hair of hers, she was not a sight to everyone. But apart from that glamorous life he was living, he knew himself had been enchanted by her eyes. Those beautiful eyes.
Katherine tried not to stare at the stranger but it was hard to resist. He looked so similar with the image of Hunter Richardson that she had buried in her mind for years. Hold on a second! She thought for a while and remembered that Hunter Richardson had a scar below his chin. So she bent her head and peeked under his chin.
Hunter arched an eyebrow when Katherine slid herself lower against his body. He felt the warmness from her body and her firm breasts pressing against his chest. Her brown sweet-smelling hair brushed his nose again and he breathed it in deeply.
Hunter was in a state of bliss but when she suddenly screamed, he jumped out of it. 'What's wrong, Katherine?' He didn't realize that he had slipped out her name from his mouth.
Katherine gasped when he said her name. He remembered her! She screamed again and lifted her paper bag to the sky. She smacked his face with the bag and ran away.
'Ow!' Hunter stood up and grabbed the paper bag from the ground. 'Wow!' he exclaimed when he looked inside the bag. 'I'm loving Townsende already', he said, despite the pain on his cheek. He started running the direction Katherine took and found her standing in front of a large but old house. If that was her house, why wouldn't she go in? Unless her key wasn't with her and it might be in the paper bag that he was holding..
Hunter laughed as he found the key. 'Poor Kat'. He walked towards her house with the key hidden in his pocket.
Katherine's eyes were about to burst out of tears when she remembered that the key to the house was in the paper bag and yet she had dumped it on Hunter Richardson. Why? She screamed in her head. Why must she meet him again after years of trying to forget him? And now she can remembered well that his eyes were as blue as the sky, his face was the face of Prince Charming and his smile was the most beautiful curve on his face. As her head was buried in deep thoughts, she looked around for a stick or something hard to break the window. She found a rock at a corner.
'My, my, look how my little nerd grew up', said Hunter as he leaned against the fences. 'You know, breaking window is a vast improvement to be a criminal if you're sick to be a nerd'.
Katherine turned around to face her first visitor to her new house. Once again, she lifted the rock to the sky and the corner of her mouth curved up.
Hunter stumbled back. 'This is murdering, Kat!'
Katherine laughed. 'Of course, I wouldn't kill the handsomest and richest man in this town. I'm a nerd so I'm not stupid'. She dropped the rock to the ground.
Hunter smirked. She was right about him as the handsomest but as for the richest, she was wrong. He had been cut off by his parents several weeks ago and they sent him here in Townsende to find a job. What job suits him? he wondered. But then his thought was interrupted by Katherine.
'Give it to me!' Katherine demanded as she pointed to the paper bag. She marched angrily towards Hunter while carefully avoiding his eyes.
Hunter stared at the beautiful girl who was walking gracefully to him. Good Lord! How did she turn out to be a beautiful swan? Where were her glasses and that frizzy large hair of hers? Those exquisite eyes and the sway of her slender body were starting to build a strong desire within him. Odd, he thought. No woman had ever built a spark in him and it was then he had decided that he will keep this woman. 'Are you renting this house?'
Katherine smiled. It was time to show Hunter Richardson that she had some riches too. 'You mean this large magnificent house? Oh no, I owned it. Without a single penny out of my pocket!'
Hunter wasn't impressed at all. It was just another dirty old house to him in this town. 'Are you living alone?' he asked but annoyed with the huskiness in his voice.
Katherine nodded. 'Can you cut the crap and give me the key?'
Hunter shook his head. 'If you want it then you have to agree with something I'm proposing'.
'And that is?'
He smiled. 'You see, I'm on a vacation now and I hope to have a great time but the people here aren't really friendly to me'.
Katherine nodded. 'It makes sense. I hate you too'.
Hunter smiled. He knew it wasn't true because no woman could ever turn their backs to him and this included the gorgeous goddess in front of him. 'Your words warmed my heart. However this is not the time for us to make out. I need a place to stay and I was hoping you can rent a room to me'.
Katherine's jaw dropped. It seemed that every cell in her had stopped functioning; making her froze for a long time. What did she really hear from Hunter Richardson? 'What?' she whispered.
'I WANT you to rent a room to me', Hunter repeated, satisfied that Katherine Johann got affected by him.
Katherine's lips trembled. 'You're kidding?'
Hunter grinned. 'No, I'm not, my sweet. I like your house. It's big and...spooky'. It was hard to find good words for an old ugly house, Hunter thought to himself.
Katherine didn't hear him. She was in deep thinking. 'How about the hotel? You can stay there', she suggested.
Hunter shook his head. 'It's too expensive'.
Katherine rolled her eyes. 'For God's sake, you're the richest guy in Townsende!'
Hunter smiled meekly. He can't tell her that he was broke. Plan B, it is then. Life-threatening was always the best skill he ever had. 'Why don't you open the door and invite this old friend for some tea?'
'Friend?' Katherine growled. 'Well, 'friend', give me back my key! I know you're keeping it!' Angrily, she walked up to him but she had forgotten the rock that she threw on the ground which unfortunely, she tripped over it.
Hunter's knuckles turned white when he saw what Katherine's head was going to hit. It was another rock but bigger. As quick as he can, his arms reached out and clasped them around her body. He practically lifted her from the ground, away from that darn rock and hugged her to his own hard form for a very long moment.
Katherine breathed very heavily as she looked down to Hunter's face which was buried in her neck. Her legs were swinging in the air and her body was pressed tightly against his. For a moment there, she really thought that a prince had swept her off her feet but yet for her situation now, it was very awkward. She almost went to hell if it wasn't for Hunter Richardson. She sighed softly and tapped a finger on Hunter's shoulder.
Hunter looked up to her beautiful face and make sure that are no scratches on it. Then he released her. She stood quietly in front of him. A small smile flashed across her mouth. Or was that just his imagination?
'Just give me the key'. She paused for a while, dragging deep breaths into her. 'And maybe you can have a cup of tea in my house'. Katherine laid out her hand for the key.
Hunter smiled. 'Good girl'. He took out the key from his pocket but didn't give it her. Instead, he walked past her and opened the door himself. He turned to her and gave a formal bow. 'Lady first?' He observed her dark scowl and chuckled. 'Well, what if you just went in yourself and locked me out? No, no, I can't let that happen, sweetheart'.
Katherine sighed heavily. Her 'perfect' life had been changed now. Hunter Richardson was in it once again. Could he make it even more 'perfect'? she thought as she swiftly entered the house.
With a paper bag of new lingerie in her hands, Kat was careful of not losing them. They were her next big photo shoot. She will be famous if people notice her in that lingerie. She crossed a road and her feet were beginning to move faster.
