Do you know what area of town you are interested in? Remember that you will have to be flexible. Most loft properties are located in the urban areas of town. Many renters are always asking if apartment communities will negotiate. Most of the time they won’t. However, if you really find two apartment communities you are trying to choose between, it cant hurt to ask. Here is what you would want to propose to the community you like.

"I really like your apartment home. I cannot decide between yours and (the competitor). I might be willing to sign today. How much can you come down on your rent per month?"

Their response will tell you a lot. Leasing agents don’t have the authority to decrease the pricing. But management does. Remember asking can’t hurt.
