George Clooney & Sarah Larson Call it Quits

A source confirmed Wednesday that the couple broke up saying, "Yes, it’s confirmed. They’ve split." Clooney’s rep, Stan Rosenfield, said, "We do not comment on George’s personal life." There has been no official reason given for the split or even who called it quits. A friend of Larson’s reportedly said that she has done "an amazing job at staying true to herself and her family and friends" after being "thrown overnight into the middle of the media monster."

Clooney, 47, met the 29-year old former Fear Factor winner almost four years ago when she was a cocktail waitress at The Whisky Bar in Las Vegas. In June 2007 the couple began dating. Clooney brought Larson to the Venice and Deauville film festival in September 2007, the first time the couple went public with their relationship. This year Clooney brought Larson to the Academy Awards. She is the first girlfriend to ever accompany him to an event like that leading many to believe that they could be heading to the alter.

In March, it was rumored that the couple were planning a summer wedding at his villa in Lake Como, Italy. Clooney denied the engagement rumors. He released a statement through his publicist that read, "These reports are not true." Clooney was married once to actress Talia Balsam. The couple was married in 1989 and divorced four years later. Clooney said shortly after his divorce that he would never marry again. Next, Clooney will star alongside buddy Brad Pitt in the Coen Brothers movie Burn After Reading.
