Any disease or medical condition related to the genital area of individuals not only hampers every day activity, but in some cases it may also cause complexes in cases of certain individuals. Some genital conditions are never diagnosed and therefore not treated for years. However, many conditions of the genital area can turn life threatening if not treated properly and at the right time.

Skin conditions and sexually transmitted diseases are some of these kinds, simply because skin conditions cause embarrassment amongst some individuals while sexually transmitted diseases are seldom diagnosed at the correct time.

Genital Warts

Genital warts are skin colored growths in the genital and anal region of both genders. It is one of the most common sexually transmitted disease via a virus. The root cause of genital warts is Human Papillomavirus (HPV). Genital Warts may not be physically visible for a while.

Sexual contact and sexual intercourse is one of the main reasons for the human body to be contacted with Genital Warts. Warts are highly contagious. Generally, they are seen between the age groups of seventeen to thirty five.

Causes and Symptoms of Genital Warts

There are around a thousand types of the HPV virus. Out of these thousand, some forty are known to cause genital warts in the genital area. Two specific types of HPV, type 6 and 11, are said to be the cause of around ninety five percent of genital warts.

Genital Warts are caused by the HPV virus, which is one of the fastest sexually transmitted disease. Therefore, abstinence is one way of preventing this virus. If an individual has been affected by Genital Warts, they should try to cover the infected skin to prevent any skin-to-skin transmission. Also, men should take ensure the quality of the latex in the condoms. Women should have regular pap tests to ensure that they do not have any cervical problems.

There are not many symptoms of Genital Warts. Some common symptoms of Genital warts in men and women are:
  • Painless bumps
  • itches
  • In some cases, the individuals can complain of discharge.
  • Very rarely, women may experience bleeding after intercourse.
Physical structure of Genital Warts:

Genital warts can range from the size of a millimeter to several square centimeters. They may infect the genital area and urethra. In the case of women, the warts generally appear on the moist part of the l the vaginal opening.

Treatment for Genital Warts:

People suffering from Genital Warts should seek medical help. If the genital warts do not allow an individual to urinate properly, they should seek medical help. Also, if the genital warts are bleeding, and it cannot be stopped with direct pressure, treatment must be taken. Currently, there is no complete and permanent solution for genital warts.

Genital Warts Therapy:

There are some therapies that offer temporary relief from Genital Warts. Depending on the size and location of these warts, any of these therapies can be used for relief:
  • Electrocautery: Applying a blistering agent to the affected area. This has to be washed off later. Also, one can burn the growths off the skin with a potent acid. The acid should be applied to the infected area in an undiluted state.
  • Cryotherapy: Some kinds of warts can be cured with the freezing therapy. Liquid nitrogen is one of the freezing agents that can be used in cryotherapy.
  • Laser Surgery: Laser surgery is another quick way for genital warts removal. Laser surgery can be used for surgically removing the area where the genital warts have come up, or destroy the growths with laser surgery.
